Hello everyone,

Ive have just noticed some very weird dots on my scans. I use an i9950 Canon and ive been restoring some old images. They have crazy amounts of texture on them, they are not originals but prints from originals and ive been using the RGB FFT to get rid of the texture.

I can only guess that this pattern has something to do with the FFT filter, perhaps the at the fixed up star pattern stage??

This image is just the Blue channel (slighty enhanced to help show them up) as it is where the dots show up most. Although they look yellow on the RGB image. Both images are attached.

If anyone can help i would be very grateful if anyone knows what it might be.

Neil

Try scanning a blank 8 .5 X 11 photo paper photo side down at 360 dpi and see if the pattern is still there. If it is clean your scanner inside and out. NP
