Does this work (or can it be made to work) with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6?

Thanks!

Sorry :)

I was curious if the "hidden" tools could be enabled in Photoshop Elements 6 as they could be previous versions:

(Layer Mask, Channel Mixer, Transform Selection, RGB Channels, etc.)

Yes, you can. The installation path is different in Windows XP and Vista, and you cannot easily install folders like in PSE4 or PSE5 (this is true for installing any actions in PSE6). Which tools version and OS do you use?

Tools version -- not sure. I stumbled across this website as I have been sorely missing the "Transform Selection" capability in Photoshop Elements. It's literally the only reason I still use Photoshop (7).

I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 32 and I just got Photoshop Elements 6. I was once again hoping it would be added as a feature. When I realized it was not, I turned to the web and ended up here.

I saw that there was a free download that included this feature, but only for versions 1-5. Hence my question. I'd love to check it out, so please let me know if you require any additional information.

Thanks!

I think I downloaded Hidden Power of Elements 5.1... is this the tools version?

I figured it out.

To enable this in Vista, with Photoshop Elements 6:

I placed the action (.atn) files here:
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Photo Creations\filters\

I took the included PSD file with all the icon layers and created a PNG for each layer, to match the .atn file names, for example:

Transform Selection.atn
Transform Selection.png

The names must match and the png files go right in the same directory. Restarting PSE6 enables the filter, and I was able to see it in the palette when I selected "show all".

Works great, though it does complain if you attempt to make the selection (in Transform Selection) fold over itself. Otherwise perfect! :)

Hope this helps somebody else!

That is a fair summary of what to do. I hope to be working on some tools this weekend -- should I find expected time as other people, to whom I have promised my time, get stuck in holiday travel ;-)

I did some preliminary exploration yesterday, and believe I have the solution I was looking for to make the categories. Adobe does try so hard to make this difficult!
