Near my home the wild grape vines are hanging full. The grape leaves have withered, and the grapes appear to be growing on an oak. I thought this might make a good fall painting.

Experimenting with GIMPressionist again and, with a few edge detect blendings, and some other enhancement filters (AAA Fotofix and Color Blur filters) and things got the result as seen. Click here (http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/1203/oakgrapesrtpha4.jpg) for the complete rendering (don't forget to expand). :)

Photomaster, those look good enough to eat. Great interpretation.

I saved all your pictures. They are all wonderful.

Palms-yours has a classic look to it that I tried but just couldn't achieve.

Swampy-I hate to be stupid, but how can I learn more about texture maps?

Lkroll-your pictures are always so different. The colors are so intense.

Photomaster-I love the soft look and how you cropped to focus on the grapes.

Janet, you're right the grapes look good enough to eat. I'll have to say I never tried wild grapes. Don't know if they're sweet or not.

Swampy,
I've tried to follow that link several times and it takes me to your homepage but when I click on the link for photoshop tutorials, it takes me to the following page http://home.earthlink.net/~lpswampy/neck%20of%20the%20woods/index.html and I can find no reference to the tutorials. What am I doing wrong?:depressed

Shari, are you getting to this page? The whole right side of the screen contains a list of my tutorials. Texture mapping is highlighted in the screen shot below.

Nice picture.

I really like PhotoMaster's interpretation.

I don't remember what all I threw at this one.

Swampy,
My stupidity again. The page doesn't open to full size on my computer and I scrolled down, but not to the right, because the whole patterned frame showed up and I thought I was seeing the whole thing.
New problem though, I am still using dial-up (until January) and the video tuts just don't work right, so I guess I'll have to wait till I get Broadband to access your excellent tutorials:bawling:
Thanks for your patience.
