I found this photo of my Mom's wedding, its the only one that was saved from the divorce. I scanned it in and tried to "fix" it and when I went to print it there are blotches of color that I can't seem to fix. I have Adobe Photoshop, which I am new to. I sure need some help, please!!!!

Hi Polly,

Had a very quick go with your picture.

Looked at the channels, and the green and blue were the most hit. So did a little cloning in those channels to take out some of the blotches.

Then did a general colour correction using curves.

Working on the RGB channel I cloned out any imperfections left.

New layer set to colour blend and I painted out some of the minor colour inconsistencies.

Picture still needs some work, but should hopefully give you a starter.

I did a basic levels on the whole picture.

Open a new blank layer above the picture and set the mode to Color. Keep a finger of whichever hand isn't on the mouse on the Alt key. Pick a small-ish (I used an 8 I think) soft brush with the opacity at 75%. (Sometimes I use less opacity, sometimes more - depends on the color. Dark colors need more opacity.) Select your paint brush and put it in an area of good color and click that Alt key. It turns your paintbrush into a color picker. I started on the brown trousers. Start painting over the discolorations. Every so often hit the Alt key and resample the color as it changes throughout the area. You may have to go over the dark stuff more than once. When you're happy with the color move on to another section That is absolutely all I did to your splotches and I did nothing in the background. I ran it through Noiseware to calm down the blotchiness a bit. With a bit of cloning and cleaning up it'll be as good as new :)

I applied few curves to balance the colors & the last one by the numbers.
After that, selectively used match colors with cloning. The jacket was the most time consuming correction. At the end I used a little noise reduction & some high pass...

Gave it a shot, used same/similar techniques listed above. I didn't mend everything though -ran out of time!

I used the healing brush and the clone tool
I used curves and the eyedroppers to correct the color
I copied the layer and used multiply blending mode and a layer mask to darken some areas.
