Art History Brush and very light (10% opacity) History Brush. Texture map. An overlay (soft light blend mode) of a layer filled with "Confetti" texture (Soft Light Mode). palms1 10-23-2007, 02:44 PM Nice one Swampy, what else to do when in the kitchen but to throw everything including the kitchen sink into it ! Palms Swampy 10-23-2007, 03:06 PM LOL, Palms. A pinch of this, a smidgen of that. Nice painting. Peter S 10-23-2007, 04:08 PM The kitchen is not normally my domain. I burn water. Well had a go anyway. Oh and before you ask - no texture mapping this time:grin: Peter Swampy 10-23-2007, 04:25 PM Nice one Peter. Peter S 10-23-2007, 04:39 PM Swampy - give me some time to have a drink before you reply. Wow that was quick you must have been sitting waiting for the posts. BTW thanks.  Peter LonK 10-23-2007, 07:22 PM Inside or outside? chillin 10-23-2007, 10:52 PM Inside or outside? I think it's outside. Alison 10-24-2007, 12:10 AM Nice image. lkroll 10-24-2007, 12:33 AM Going for a Cezanne like look. :) GerryB 10-24-2007, 02:19 AM I used a little of this and a little of that. In other words I just experimented until I saw something I liked. Swampy 10-24-2007, 07:56 AM Peter, LOL... Have another drink! :-) Lonnie, Wonderful tile effect! Amazing! Chillin, I like the texture of yours. Alison, Soft and pretty LK, You nailed the Cezanne look. How did you do your sketch lines? Gerry, Teriffic "experiment". Great embossed look. lkroll 10-24-2007, 12:55 PM Not so Ancient Chinese Secret; used GIMP's Neon Edge detect filter (using this for a lot of things lately) along with Layer property settings unique to GIMP (i.e., Grain Extract and Grain Merge for instance) for the sketch like feel. Again thanks for the comments Dee Dee. :) sylvia1065 10-24-2007, 07:28 PM Thanks for the nice picture, Swampy!! Sylvia GerryB 10-24-2007, 10:35 PM Gerry, Teriffic "experiment". Great embossed look. Thanks, Swampy. I got the "embossed look" with a texture map layer. I increased the contrast of the original and saved it. When I finished fiddling around with the history and art history brushes, I added a layer and filled it with 50% gray. I used the texturizer to load the high contrast image and fiddled with the relief until I was happy, then set the blending mode to hard light and adjusted the opacity. Thanks for the tutorial! It helped a lot. BTW, this picture seemed to call to me for an oilcloth texture. I tried to get a texture for the map but I was unsuccessful in finding one and wasn't sure how to make one. I'll have to do some experimenting when I have a little time. One never knows when it might come in handy. palms1 10-25-2007, 01:33 AM another try with Redfields fratcalius (demo hence the watermarks ) Palms Swampy 10-25-2007, 06:57 AM Gerry, Thanks for the work flow on your texture mapping. :-) There goes, Palms, stepping out of the box again! LOL.. fun image, P. Cassidy 10-25-2007, 08:37 AM Great pic to play with, went for something a bit rustic Swampy 10-25-2007, 09:17 AM Cass, Rustic is good! Steve Conway 10-28-2007, 08:26 AM Ok, I'm guessing here, but this looks like the makings for ginger bread. But with strawberries? Steve C.
