Hello my peoples. I have been shooting like a freak. Yesterday learned the importances of an equipment check before moving from one location to another. Poor little tripod. Hope it is in good hands.

Here is the Situation I shot a bunch of sweet photos yesterday and got so caught up in the moment, didn't realize I was shooting at 1600 iso with my little rebel XTI. As you can imagine the noise is ridiculous. I can live with it, but is there anything I can do to clean this image up a bit with killing it. Any post processing (noise reduction techniques) will be greatly appreciated. Not looking for short cuts only the best methods please.

Thanks in advance. Let me know if yah want a cool pic to practice on as well.

You can kill a ton of the noise with Photoshop's built in reduce noise filter, just be sure to add sharpen detail and preserve details or you will lose definition especially on the back of the hands.

Beyond that the usual candidates, neatimage, noise ninja etc

Also I would add a levels or curves adjustment to correct the tones and the image will really pop. This will increase the saturation of yellows (which has the effect of reducing the blues)

a 2 min edit with reduced noise and some color fixing, color fixing in these situations is a personal preference as I wanted to introduce pleasant overtones of color rather than just fix to neutral light.

Very nice!! Yeah I am on Fred miranda right now. I am getting the similar suggestions.

Thanks for the sample too. That is exactly what I plan to do to make the imake pop a little more. Also give the background a very scuttle blur.
