Darling little girls. I was such a klutz at dance school. At the recitals they always made me a tree. LOL

Thanks for the play, Palms.

Wow folks. I hope this one gets wings and keeps flying. To answer Palms, I again used so many filters and GIMP tricks that it would be rubbish to try to explain a potpourri of things (even if I did remember some; lol). :)

What really bugs me is not knowing which one it was that lost the contact lens.

I'm sure they all turn into swans eventually - they always do!
Great picture to work on, thanks Palms.

Palms

Not easy but I'll try.
I smoothed out A dupe of the BG to get rid of any jpeg stuff as this causes too much trouble later.
Then duped again and used Redfields++ bas relief. and set mode to overlay and reduced opacity down a little , I only wanted to highlight some of the details.
Duped the smoothed layer again and moved to the top and blend mode to colour, also boosted the colours slightly to make them more obvious.
Created a new layer filled with 50% grey and set to overlay, applied a pattern overlay layer style, (can't remember which pattern), to this layer set the mode in this to overlay scaled it down slightly a reduced its opacity slightly.
It was still a little dark so added a new layer and filled with white, added a mask and hid parts to taste. then reduced the opacity further to get the final effect.
There was more but writing it down is hard as I threw a lot of it away and redid things.
Now if you were sitting here - no prob would be able to show you it all.

Hope it gets you in the right direction.

Xero's Supersmooth set to Grain Extract and merged down and set to Overlay for the poor man's Lucis effect. I then did some NI cleaning and and additional Supersmooth step with a few addition color/sat enhancements. Here (http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/5087/dance029jl4.jpg)'s the complete rendering; attached is a lower quality crop. :)

Glad you liked this one Palms. Xero's Supersmooth really helped a lot with the gradient transistion effect. I use this filter a lot because it can do so many things including Aniso effects. :)
