Hello,

I want to know what tricks you can use to realistic cut of a bodypart in photoshop (such as arm, finger...) from a person (i know and will be informed). I'm not freaky ;-)

I only want to use pictures of my own, so i can't take any 'details' from existing pictures on the internet.

So i guess i have to draw them?

Suggestions?

Thx!

if you want to make it look like there is a cut on a person, the best way to do it would be to find a good source of a cut and blend it with your image. drawing a photo realistic cut would be difficult.

Yes, I understand.

If you look at 'Royal Blood' from Erwin Olaf (http://www.erwinolaf.com/) it is all so realistic. I guess a lot of photoshop, but extremely well done. Any suggestion how this process can be done? I mean: photographing the model clean, followed by shots with blood on the clothes...?

thx,

Wow..... Olaf's work is amazing.

Everyday somebody shows me some amazing work form a photographer I have never heard of. Its actually a little de-motivating... knowing that there are so many superior photogs out there.

Make-up as well party people. I know for a fact that Erwin Olaf uses not so much retouching, as much as he does excellent lighting, and good make-up artists.

These are the guys that do (some of) his retouching though:

A lot of Photoshop, but also a lot of pre-production. More than you probably realize. In most of his shots, the finished version is probably quite realized.

Huh?
Ok, I understand your statement, but in this case i guess A LOT of photoshop. But yes, more pre-production than we probably know.

I did chop off my head once =) I took two shots so I could erase my body and have the model be visible behind it.

Sometimes its better do do as much possible before Photoshop, to save some time.
