Since this is my very first post I am not even sure I'm in the right forum. Steer me elsewhere if necessary.

I am trying to simulate the the creamy vanilla look of polaroid film/prints. To desaturate the pics, I have so far tried adding a black and white layer with lighten blend mode, and about 50% opacity. I've also used a gaussian blur of about 3 px on the B&W layer. It's pretty good but still seems far off.

Any tips, tutorials or actions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank

Not knowledgeable, but searched for some ideas and just started playing at desaturating a bit, selective color adjustment, reducing sharpness, etc.

It will be interesting to see if anyone here (pro photographer who used polaroid for test shots, perhaps) knows how to get close. Why do you want the Polaroid look -- just looking for something different?

There a plugin by AlienSkin called Exposure2....
Has a bunch of film types..
i use the FP100-C filter for pola effects

i miss polaroids.....

Yes, I know about that plug-in.
Unfortunately I am $everely re$tricted and cant afford it so that why I was trying to develop a 'manual' method with adjustment layers.

Does the filter you refer to just add a lot of Cyan (to the shadows) ?

i wouldnt say cyan...
it has 3 diff FP100c versions

FP100C - beautiful pola contrast
FP100C (magentacast) - pretty gross on people
FP100C (Slight Blur) - self-explanatory
FP100C (too long in the pod) - muted and cool

they have a free trail which is nice

im $avin up right now
