This was a fun project. Have at it with your paint brushes.

Mine was done with the Pattern Stamp Tool. I used a Nagel Brush with Impressionist ON on one layer. It gave me some wonderful color spattering. More detail painted with a textured brush above that.

Nice pic to work with and I really like your arty interpretation.

I thought this one begged for a BW conversion... It got a little artifacted in the sizing for upload, but you get the idea. :)

User Xero's Serious Fog in a blend to, well, give it that fog glow look. I then used a blend of DCSpecial's 1969 filter to supersaturate the colors. I then ran Xero's Carrivagio filter and added a little GIMPressionist Fury. Finally, blended in the Canvas after I did an overall Bumpmap for some additional (though subtle) texture. Simple stuff; all filters this time, so I'm getting close to Nirvana. lol

edit:

Argh; well I sort of fibbed since I did clean around the bubby a bit to keep that area sharp; probably didn't have too, but I liked it that way, so I am still not getting close to Nirvana. lol

:)

Yes another edit. I didn't use Carrivagio; I used Eye Candy Jiggle. Man; just don't ask me to outline my steps. I tend to work in the moment and selectively forget what I do. Part of my particular madness. lol

Thank you, Danny. I love the effect of the Nagel Ragged Watercolor brush. You just never know what colors it's gonna throw out on the canvas when you turn the PST impressionist option on. (Tip, use a fairly big size for the brush when you do the background grounding this way).

Danny, your B/W is very effective.

LK... Well, heaven knows you got those filters down pat. That is a lovely painting.

Swampy, that brush you used helped make a great picture.

Every time I go to one of the sites that has the Nagel brushes, I'm overwhelmed with all the java script stuff and flashing gizmos. It's almost not worth the trip. Yesterday when I was searching for that brush I ended up with about two dozen tracking cookies that I didn't have before the visit. Fortunately Ad-Aware found them.

Do you remember which set that the Nagel Ragged Watercolor brush was in?

Thanks and Regards
