View Full Version : Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.0 (reviews wanted) Doug Nelson 12-03-2007, 05:12 PM I'm thinking of getting a Nikon D40 just so I can use Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.0. But that's a serious investment for something I can find little information about.
But Nikon has just issued a 30-day demo of Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.0, so perhaps we can learn more about it together?
Download the demo, play with it, take a bunch of UI screencaps, and post your results and reviews here.

Just tried the Camera Control Pro 2 with my brand new D-40x, (w/18-55mm & 55-200mm-VR and SB-600). WOW this is amazing.
I shoot a lot of indoor scenes with the SB-600 and being able to see the large image on my computer instantly and control most settings lets me adjust and correct images in seconds.
Also the software allows the images to bypass the camera memory and store directly to the computer saving me additional time for transfers to the computer. I will absolutely purchase this software.
This is my first DSLR and I am blown away by the images. After shooting film for years and having point and shoot Digital, the D-40x and this software makes everything else seem to be a waste of time.
This is amazing for the price. Yes there are more expensive options from Nikon and others, but this is everything I need at a reasonable price. Yea Nikon! Doug Nelson 12-11-2007, 12:15 AM Great! I didn't think live view worked for the d40, but maybe that's something else. Can we get some screenshots? roseng 12-11-2007, 08:52 PM Great! I'll try to get you some screen shots shortly. What is Live View? Doug Nelson 12-11-2007, 09:11 PM Live View is something the Nikon website says is only supported for their top end DSLR cameras (D2, D3, etc.). I guessed it was being able to see the image pre-exposure on your monitor, but from what you say it looks like my guess was wrong. roseng 12-11-2007, 09:42 PM No, on this app you need to take the picture to see the digital image but if it looks poor you can just delete it and make corrections. For my application it's no big deal. | |
