Hi Lara,

Just a very quick go at this because I have to cook tea.

Levels adjustment layer, individual channels, bring sliders into majority of information.

Used the patch tool to quickly show you that it can be fixed up. Lots more to adjust of course, but it isn't quite as hard as you might think.

Sorry that it's messy and unattractive :depressed

Did a levels adjustment, then a the rest was simply tedious cloning, followed by a slight crop, a clone to the corners and a further levels adjustment. Hard to tell if the red lacy belt is actually drawn in or factual.

Working on the Lady only, I mostly used Levels, Selective Colors, Hue/Saturation

.... Hard to tell if the red lacy belt is actually drawn in or factual.... I think it could be an apron ...

I used several blending modes, levels, HSL adjustment layers etc.
I also cloned, healed and patched.

I have done a few "stuck to glass jobs" and the recipient broke into tears. When that happens, you realize that it REALLY meant something to them!

I understand your feeling very well Cass,

I always used to post my restorations/retouching(s) together with a step-by-step explanation + snapshots of what I had done .... but when I started seeing that the corrected images I posted had been viewed/downloaded 90 odd times (and sometimes even more) without a single word or comment at least from the member who had started the Thread, I changed my habits .... :hurt:

Might as well make something good of this, then.

Anyone know how to get stuck photos off glass? I've seen it a few times, but I've been too timid to experiment since they weren't my photos. I'd guess steam, if afterwords you leave it to dry in a frame (so it doesn't curl).

Any other ideas?
