>>>Standard restrictions apply and written permission is needed from ekartal before using the photo for any work.<<<
Also, when I try to copy the image from the one displayed in the forum, I can't open it in Photoshop becaue a get an "invalid JPEG marker, file may be truncated" notice. chillin 01-01-2008, 01:55 PM Can you use save as? Swampy 01-01-2008, 02:45 PM Tried that too, and get the JPEG marker, truncated on that as well. I'll keep trying. T Paul 01-01-2008, 03:43 PM It appears the restriction has changed since I downloaded the image or I just grabbed the wrong image. I am uploading a new image. Peter S 01-01-2008, 04:13 PM Oops still a prob with the new image. I managed to drag it to a temp folder but get the same truncated message swampy does. Also its size in the temp folder is 11kb not 509kb.
Though appears full size in Firefox.
Peter T Paul 01-01-2008, 06:42 PM I resaved the file using Save For Web...perhaps this will make it more browser friendly. Swampy 01-01-2008, 07:00 PM Worked for me! Thanks! 0lBaldy 01-01-2008, 09:11 PM Hmmm, now I got two.. the first one downloaded fine for me and as I was going to submit.. noticed that the picture and size for the submission has changed.. soooo, guess I will start over and use the new one... I didn't really know what to do with all those large leaves anyway..
BTW.. Beautiful rendition Swampy.. ScubaMargie 01-02-2008, 12:52 AM Hi all and Happy New Year. Cool idea for this months contest. Nice rendition Swampy palms1 01-02-2008, 03:49 AM I had no problem downloading the first one, but i was going to ask if we could change the colour of the lily, now I don't have too :pleased:
Palms Swampy 01-02-2008, 07:18 AM :-) Thanks OB and Margie. Swampy 01-02-2008, 06:24 PM Ro... Lovely! Ro... Lovely!
Thanks, Swampy :bigthmb:
Last time I did pen-and-wash was in school - with a real pen and real water. (a self-portrait at 13!!)
I just thought I'd try the obvious. Fired up Painter, drew the lines with an "ink" brush and the did the wash with the "just-add-water" blender. :bigthmb:
Fun! I think I'll try again later.
Rô Frank Lopes 01-03-2008, 05:28 PM Took a crack at it :-)
It was fun do work on it. chillin 01-05-2008, 10:51 AM Here (http://haha.nu/beautiful/how-a-traditional-chinese-painting-looks-3d/) you can see a sample how to do it...:spchless: Frank Lopes 01-05-2008, 01:21 PM I've noticed that some of you, including me, have added Chinese characters to your entries.
Are you using the characters as visual embellishments or are they poetry inscriptions? allieok 01-06-2008, 06:58 AM Since I don't know Chinese characters, and have no way of interpreting them, mine are purely decorative. Lorraine 01-06-2008, 08:25 AM Here (http://haha.nu/beautiful/how-a-traditional-chinese-painting-looks-3d/) you can see a sample how to do it...:spchless:
Amazing and beautiful!!! Thanks chillin.

Frank, if I ever get my submission to look good to enough to enter, I'll be using the characters for "Beautiful Flower" that I found here:

which one do you plan on entering into the other (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/contests/20153-jan-08-contest-artistic.html) thread..?
IE... Rule #6. Only one entry per person. You can change your entry up to the deadline. T Paul 01-15-2008, 12:13 PM Please note:
5. ...Links will not be accepted. ... 0lBaldy 01-15-2008, 01:09 PM Hmmm, my sig does look misleading in that post doesn't it..
But I didn't want to change it just for one post..
Sorry if it was confusing T Paul 01-28-2008, 06:12 PM I'm afraid 3 Entries did not meet the rules:
allieok - filename incorrect
4. When you submit your entry put your username in the filename (ie: tpaul.jpg). This is so users can save the images to a local directory and remember who did what--important when it comes time to vote.
lvhoover - file size (800 x 631)
3. Final image must be exactly 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.
Ziaphra - file size (800 x 602)
