I cannot download the image... There is a usage restriction.

>>>Standard restrictions apply and written permission is needed from ekartal before using the photo for any work.<<<

Also, when I try to copy the image from the one displayed in the forum, I can't open it in Photoshop becaue a get an "invalid JPEG marker, file may be truncated" notice.

Can you use save as?

Swampy

Tried that too, and get the JPEG marker, truncated on that as well. I'll keep trying.

It appears the restriction has changed since I downloaded the image or I just grabbed the wrong image. I am uploading a new image.

Oops still a prob with the new image. I managed to drag it to a temp folder but get the same truncated message swampy does. Also its size in the temp folder is 11kb not 509kb.
Though appears full size in Firefox.

I resaved the file using Save For Web...perhaps this will make it more browser friendly.

Ro... Lovely!
Thanks, Swampy :bigthmb:
Last time I did pen-and-wash was in school - with a real pen and real water. (a self-portrait at 13!!)

I just thought I'd try the obvious. Fired up Painter, drew the lines with an "ink" brush and the did the wash with the "just-add-water" blender. :bigthmb:

Fun! I think I'll try again later.

I've noticed that some of you, including me, have added Chinese characters to your entries.

Are you using the characters as visual embellishments or are they poetry inscriptions?

Since I don't know Chinese characters, and have no way of interpreting them, mine are purely decorative.

Frank, if I ever get my submission to look good to enough to enter, I'll be using the characters for "Beautiful Flower" that I found here:

Aarius,
which one do you plan on entering into the other (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/contests/20153-jan-08-contest-artistic.html) thread..?

IE... Rule #6. Only one entry per person. You can change your entry up to the deadline.

Hmmm, my sig does look misleading in that post doesn't it..

But I didn't want to change it just for one post..

Sorry if it was confusing

I'm afraid 3 Entries did not meet the rules:

allieok - filename incorrect
4. When you submit your entry put your username in the filename (ie: tpaul.jpg). This is so users can save the images to a local directory and remember who did what--important when it comes time to vote.

lvhoover - file size (800 x 631)
3. Final image must be exactly 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

Ziaphra - file size (800 x 602)
3. Final image must be exactly 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.
