Can someone help me with suggestions on how to restore this photo.
I thank anyone who tries to assist with this restore. I used to be a regular but have not been doing much restoration lately. I would appreciate any help.

Your JPEG could be corrupt, try resaving it under a different name. If you still can't get it to upload you could upload to imageshack.

you could post the larger version at ImageVenue.com (3Meg max, free) or pixentral.com (2Meg max, free) or photobucket.com (1 Meg max free,... 5 Meg PRO)-- then post a link here in this thread to the site that is hosting your larger version.

I had that problem when I was new, you'll get used to it all :)

You could rename your image, make sure that the image is under 100k and try again, or get an account at one of the free image storage places and add a link in your post.

It did that to me once .... If I remember well, closing my browser, renaming the image I wanted to upload, and opening my browser again solved the problem ... always provided the image you wish to upload has a valid extension: bmp, doc, gif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, pdf, png, psd, txt, zip and its size is 100 KB or less...

Trying again

This is a very rough try. The first thing I did was to straighten the picture. It seemed to be off 1.42 degrees. Used the healing brush set to replace. The red channel seems to be offset from the green and blue to a large degree. Did an adjustment to get the red out. Didn't do much with the background (such as replace) as I didn't know how true to the original it was to be.

I apologize for not posting sooner. My husband had a serious accident at his work place, falling 12 feet to a cement floor. He had a lot of trama to his body and fractures in many places. Also had two surgeries. This has changed our lives a lot. Computer just has not had the same spot in my life since. I am deeply grateful to God his injuries were not more severe, like spinal and brain. He is in rehab now and has been hospitalized almost 6 weeks. We see so many people young and old who suffer so many more tramatic injuries that we feel very lucky.

An old friend asked me to look at the tin type pictures she got from a family member. I just did not have time or energy to do them justice so wanted to see what you all could do for one of them. Thanks for the nice work!! :)Neb

Well I replaced much of the background
I started off using the red channel and later added sepia back into the photo.
