is there an option to make blog entries directly in HTML format?

I tried it but it didn't seem to render the HTML code: it outputs it as raw code.

Sorry, HTML is disabled for posting throughout the site. But you can use the integrated WYSIWYG editor (click the a/A icon over on the right).

I use it... unfortunately I haven't figured out how to do a table...

Frank, you might be able to post your table as an image. PNG usually works well for that kind of thing.
