I know the general procedure for 360-degree panoramas, but this seems much better than most. First of all, it's in a smaller environment than typical, but it also seems to exhibit much less distortion.

Go to flashpanoramas.com (http://flashpanoramas.com/player/) and get the aplication for £40 and merge all 6 images together.
Sounds easy but I haven't try it jet.

The reason for almost no distortion:

the number of images shot:
the more images you use, the less obvious the distortion is

the lens used:
longer focal lengths equal less distortion

There is a retouchpro.com member with a blog (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/blogs/frank-lopes/) covering this same subject...

Hi, one of the main reasons for this particular pano looking so good is that it's a HDR ie multiple exposures tone mapped to give good shadow detail & prevent blowing the highlights. And like Frank said, because it was taken with multiple shots and not a fisheye lens for example, the distortion is minimal.
