I need a recommendation on smoothing edges on an extraction. If you look at the photo the edges on her a look bad. Any recommendation on resolving this?

Eddie,
How did you do the extraction? If you have a mask, go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and apply a 1-2 pixel blur to the mask. If you have Photoshop CS3, go to Select>Refine Edge. There are sliders there that will help you smooth out and feather the edges.

I used Fluid mask for the extraction. Its great on hair for the most part. It seem like when I get shadows next to a limb it does as in the attached picture. The history brush does not seem to help.

Hi Eddie
I,m no expert, but if you blur the edge a bit it looks a lot better. I got decent
results, but the image you posted is very low res.

I did try blur. Maybe I have to be more patient using the blur tool. I guess there is no magic bullet, just hard work.

Do you still have the original before extraction in a layer? If not, reopen the original file, and shift drag the original back in to a new layer. (Shift drag should align it back up). Add a layer mask and fill it with black to hide the new layer. Use a soft brush to paint back in the image where you need to fill it back in.
