I have PE4 with hidden elements.
When I use the magic extractor tool, everything is fine until I click preview
and then layer flatten.
The image is sharp but all around it is a jagged edge which I have tried to
fix with the clone tool.
Question: Is there another way to remove that jagged edge?
It says to use the eraser tool and the smoothing tool but I don't know if that would work. I've never used either of those (2) tools.
Anybody have a solution.

This is (1) example of those jagged lines. At 100% they are quite obvious.

Swampy, I forgot to mention that that attachment is from appleworks 6.
I cannot get PE4 to accept it...any ideas?

I'm guessing here, but it looks like your graphic was done in the "draw" module of Apple Works so it contains vectors not bitmap information. PE deals with bitmap info not vector. If you can take a screen shot of the artwork you might be able to open it in PE. Or if you can save or export it from AW as a JPEG, TIFF, or GIF, you may be able to open it in PE.

Swampy, I went back to appleworks and saved it as a jpeg and PE4
accepted it ok. The original problem is the jagged lines. I've always
thought that vectors didn't have jagged lines. Any thoughts there?

Vectors will render as per their pixel base when converted to bitmap file types.
Still waiting on examples.

Just what Richard said. Vectors, when saved as JPEG, TIFF etc. get rasterized and turn to pixels in the process, ergo, jaggies.
