I bought the Hidden Power ver 4 book in December. In January I spilled my drink all over my Wacom tablet and had to replace it (no...that was the first and LAST time I'll have a drink near my computer!). The replacement was bundled with Photoshop Elements 5 so I installed it. My question is...can I install the Hidden Tools from 4.0 into 5.0?? I haven't installed them on 4.0 yet. And if I can install them in 5.0, what is the path?? I know that Adobe changed some of that around but I don't know what the new ones would be. Thanks in advance for any and all help!!

See http://hiddenelements.com/elements_5.html

Looks to me like, "No."

Don't blame Richard; blame Adobe for changing the underlying architecture.

I didn't even see that! Thanks!

And no...I wouldn't even think of blaming Richard. I didn't even say anything remotely sounding like I was blaming him.

Guess that means I just need to remember the steps instead of using the shortcuts! :)

Sorry if my reply came across that I thought you were blaming him. Definitely not the case.

In the past Richard has been flamed (by others) for writing books for new versions of Elements that include rewritten, updated and new tools and having the b@lls to charge for them vs. offering free copies to purchasers of previous editions.

I wuz attempting to cutoff any potential complaints at the pass.

Thanks for not being a whiner. Wish more people were like you. :)

Yes you can install the PSE4 tools in PSE5 or PSE6.
You'll have to do it yourself by installing the atn files, which are actions
in the correct directories. Do a search for installing actions in this forum.
If you have not installed the tools in an existing PSE4 version, state a temporary folder to unzip the files in the installation process. Depending on your version, PSE5 or 6, Windows or Vista, the paths are different...
Richard Lynch does not confirm the compatibility, but I have found no problem. The real difficulty is organizing the tools in categories and recovering the thumbnails icons in PSE6, but you can do it simply so that they appear in the 'show all' category.
As I said, be prepared to search this forum for installing actions.

No problem, Danny!! :)

Thanks, Michel...I'll buckle down and see what I can find out! This ought to be interesting--way out of my comfort zone! :) But I catch on to things quickly most of the time.

Thanks to both of you for your help!!

I believe this is covered elsewhere as well in these threads. If you happen on a tool that doesn't behave, please let me know.
