View Full Version : Application foto collar problem PatrickB 02-21-2008, 01:58 PM Hi there,
I haven't been here for a while, out of business for at least a year...
Well today I had a photographer shoot an application-photo of yours truly and it's... well...
Problem is the collar, the shirt is too wide this making it hang loose around my neck and the collar is being bent to the outside and, well take a look!
I've been thinking a while, has somebody an idea how to fix it?
P. DCobb 02-21-2008, 06:50 PM Hi Patrick,
I gave it a try; however, I will start by saying I am not a professional retoucher, but it was an interesting project.
I started by selecting the collar part on the other side and then horizontal flipped it. I used the warp tool in Photoshop cs3. Did some painting, healing brush. I am sure the experts could do a much more refined job. Even the perspective might be off some. However, some improvement.

I went back and changed the angle of the tie a little. chillin 02-21-2008, 08:35 PM I think the liquify tool in Photoshop would be my choice. DCobb 02-21-2008, 09:59 PM Also gave it a try using Chillin's suggestion with the liquify filter. Much quicker. Not sure why I didn't start with that tool.

...I raised and slightly centered the tie.
Butch PatrickB 02-21-2008, 10:54 PM Yes, to all of you! That's exactly what I came out with. But the part between tie and the "wrapped down part" (no idea what it's name is) of the collar is still too loose and and bent outward. And that's where I got stuck :( printmeister 02-22-2008, 03:13 AM Made a couple of selections of the collar and used the warp tool. Some cloning and shading to edges so they didn't look so sharp pixeltek 02-22-2008, 04:35 AM here's yet another version...all of the above and then some... Hapsmig 02-22-2008, 05:26 AM Hi. This is my try on the picture.
Hans Peder Here's another tactic for your consideration. Search around for another photo from which you can "borrow" the shirt and tie. For example... mistermonday 02-22-2008, 11:00 AM Lonnie, excellent innovation, wonderful result.

In this case substitution seemed to be a quick and easy resolution to Patrick's problem. StormFX 02-24-2008, 09:04 AM Hello,
Used liquify tool, masking, D&B layer but LonK's solution is the best method IMHO.
