~Original~ BWw/Color dataflow 02-22-2008, 02:41 AM here is my version Steve Conway 02-22-2008, 09:37 AM Ancient stairway. alexmeta 02-22-2008, 12:25 PM Two versions of mine palms1 02-22-2008, 12:51 PM and here is my version
Palms mikajomc 02-22-2008, 03:20 PM Nice work everyone!
Here's mine- Peter S 02-22-2008, 04:35 PM Nice one folks
I think I made it look spooky.
Peter sylvia1065 02-22-2008, 07:39 PM Thanks for the interesting picture, Pavel!
I particularly like your version as well as Steve's.
Steve, did you use any non-Photoshop plugin for yours? Just curious...

Sylvia
Most of the time I use layering and a plugin or plugins. I think I used Buzz and sketching mainly on this one. No non-Photoshop plugins.
And thanks.
Steve C. DannyRaphael 02-23-2008, 10:27 PM Used "best of" individual color channels (layer masks, blend modes).
Stretched the right side of the final image a bit and cropped so the stairs would not be "right in the middle." lkroll 02-23-2008, 11:53 PM Seamless Droste and used that for the Amazing Circle. :) DannyRaphael 02-24-2008, 12:04 AM Seamless Droste and used that for the Amazing Circle. :)Looks like Seamless Droste is a GIMP trick, true? Pretty neat! :) Kraellin 02-24-2008, 12:18 AM steve, i really like that. simple, clean and really brings out a nice old world flavor.
and alex, i really like your 2nd one, the dark one. i had considered doing a dark also, but now that i see yours, no need :)
palms, very moody, gritty. i like it :)
jordan, nice. hadnt even thought about giving it a worn look. nicely done :)
peter, also moody, but with a colored pencil sort of look. nice :)
that 2nd looks like a polar coordinates, lyle. havent seen any of those around here in a while. Kraellin 02-24-2008, 12:19 AM i also went for a bit moody. a bit of a burn mode layer and some brushstrokes. palms1 02-24-2008, 03:51 AM i also went for a bit moody. a bit of a burn mode layer and some brushstrokes.
Craig that is moody, love it

Thanks man!
Steve C. lkroll 02-24-2008, 08:23 AM Thanks for the comments Danny/Craig. Yes, Droste preset in Mathmap (a special GIMP filter though a stand-a-alone version is available for the MAC's) was used. Make Seamless is a GIMP filter too. Also, for the Amazing circle, the recently made a Script-fu (much better even then the Action that's available for Photoshop) for it. :)

and you're welcome, steve, lyle :)

thanx, Pavel for interesting photo. Swampy 02-25-2008, 06:47 AM Hey, Pavel.. you know I couldn't pass this one up even if I've been sick as a dog. LOL palms1 02-25-2008, 06:49 AM Hey, Pavel.. you know I couldn't pass this one up even if I've been sick as a dog. LOL
Was begining to wonder about you ? hope you are feeling better now
Palms Swampy 02-25-2008, 06:57 AM Palms, I've been in and out of the hospital twice in the last two weeks with pneumonia. And I just got my new MacPro this week to set up... sick, busy, sick, busy... But thanks for the thoughts. pavel123 02-25-2008, 04:14 PM Swampy, hope you'll get over it soon...
Great rendition.
Pavel Swampy 02-25-2008, 04:18 PM Thanks and thanks, Pavel! kimlou 02-25-2008, 04:29 PM Had to go for texture on this one. Kraellin 02-25-2008, 10:50 PM the trick is to take a laptop with you, dee dee, one with a wi-fi connection. then you just hook into the hospital's service and you're never away from us ;) Swampy 02-26-2008, 06:32 AM I'm never far away anyway, Craig. This place is my virtual hang out. It's been so much fun to meet new friends here and to learn from them, but especially to watch others extend their skills from some hint or tip I may have passed on. Kraellin 02-26-2008, 08:05 PM yup, quite a house doug has built here, dee dee... an amazing group of people :) | |
