Swampy- another wonderful watercolor
I am attempting Painter. I realize my painting is nothing amazing. But I'm pretty happy just figuring out the brushes :) I would not let myself revert to Photoshop till I had finished it! :lmao: Steve Conway 02-28-2008, 01:12 PM For some reason this image didn't seem to look very good no matter what I threw at it. Never-the-less I kept throwing, just mainly to have something to post. So here is what I finally came up with.
Steve C. Swampy 02-28-2008, 02:31 PM Jordan, you did a great job in Painter. I just can't figure out the brushes. What did you use?
Well, Steve, it's great, if you asked me. mikajomc 02-28-2008, 03:51 PM Thank you Swampy, although I think you're being kind :) I know I used one of the Digital Watercolor brushes, because I heard they were easier than the regular WC brushes. But I looked back through them and none of the names sound familiar!
Steve- I know what you mean. I redid & redid mine several times. I quite like what you came up with though. 0lBaldy 02-28-2008, 04:02 PM Dang Steve throw some my way.. I think it looks great! U got my Vote!
Jordan lotsa color thanks fer da play.. You are becoming quite the artist!
Lyle with all that fabric I was expecting a tapestry or embroidery from you
Swampy Luv your texture looks great!
I just tried to maintain a bit of all that vibrant color without mucking it up to much Steve Conway 02-28-2008, 05:16 PM OLBaldy, Swampy, and Jordan.....Surprised and pleased that you folks decided it was ok.
Thanks to you all for boosting my morale on this one.
Steve C. sylvia1065 02-28-2008, 07:17 PM Beautiful picture!!!
Here's my version of it.
Sylvia palms1 02-29-2008, 07:15 AM This is a lovely colourful photo, but like Steve and some others i had trouble too and i am only posting this in honour of the time i spent on it
Weird isnt it when you see a nice image and then cant "make" anything of it :aghast:
Palms mikajomc 03-01-2008, 02:44 PM I've spent the morning struggling with this photo and painter. Ugh! Obviously I am not posting anything. 'Nuf said.
OB love the texture in yours
Sylvia- beautiful!
Palms- I am glad you posted. I think it's very nice. I especially like your background. mikajomc 03-01-2008, 09:11 PM OK, one more, just to say I completed it.
This time with Painter's regular watercolors. cardmnal 03-01-2008, 09:58 PM Great colors on this one. Thanks for posting it.
Jordan I really liked your first one.
My rendition is a little oil painting.
Alan collvebf 03-02-2008, 12:59 PM This is my first post to any forum here, but couldn't resist the colorful image.
Changed the background scene to get rid of the distractions and did an illustrated (smudging and diffuse anistropic) look in CS3 to maintain the vibrant colors in the dresses.
Bryan Swampy 03-02-2008, 01:21 PM Wow, Bryan. Way to introduce yourself to the forum! Marvelous painting and thanks for the workflow info. You're gonna fit right in around here! :-) cardmnal 03-02-2008, 02:54 PM Bryan, yours really pops! Good work and welcome! collvebf 03-02-2008, 03:22 PM Thanks to you and Swampy for the welcoming and kind remarks. I've been a "lurker" for some time, learning along the way and decided to jump in the fray since there is an amazing amount of really good work and and great talent here. mikajomc 03-02-2008, 07:17 PM Great first post Bryan. I really like the background change & the smudge look.
