I started this last evening, and I know it still needs some work, but I'd be interested in hearing some opinions at this point.

As this is a WIP and the work quality thus far is exceptional I will only mention the obvious.. straighten the picture and darken the top... (sky, buildings and mans face).. hawkeye60 02-28-2008, 01:02 PM Thank you for your comments. As for the obvious, I always save the easiest parts for last. Damo77 02-28-2008, 07:11 PM Nice work so far. It's just a pity you seem to have lost detail in the man's coat. The lady's hair seems a little blue to me. Is your monitor calibrated ok? dataflow 02-28-2008, 07:42 PM Nice work so far. It's just a pity you seem to have lost detail in the man's coat. The lady's hair seems a little blue to me. Is your monitor calibrated ok? i dont think the detail is lost i just think its dark so you cant see it. if you zoom in on the pic(enlarge it) you can still see the detail Damo77 02-28-2008, 07:48 PM I have opened the posted photo in Photoshop, and the Red channel is completely filled in, and the other two are almost gone as well. Considering the lovely detail in the original, I think it's a shame. Just saying, is all ... duwayne 02-28-2008, 08:05 PM The first thing I did was to run the image through Neat Image using the chrominance noise filter. This eliminates a lot of the muddy look. I got a really nice surprise when Neat Image also eliminated a lot of the red spots. I then used a curve adjustment layer to correct the color and contrast. I don't know what caused the little red spots but they seem to be mainly in the darker area so I selected the dark area (coats, hats and shoes) and used Hue/Saturation layer to remove the red and blue. After that just a lot of cloning and healing to clean up. 0lBaldy 02-29-2008, 01:45 AM If you don't mind us playing with your image.. I will add my version also hawkeye60 02-29-2008, 10:14 AM If you don't mind us playing with your image.. I will add my version also Please do. I appreciate all the feedback, especially when it includes explanations, hopefully I'll be able to learn something from it all for future use. Nan 02-29-2008, 12:16 PM I gave it a try too. Mostly painting over the spots and some levels adjustments. Nan |
