| View Full Version : Creative Interpretations - Lion on the rocks Swampy 03-01-2008, 09:19 AM Here's one for all you smudgers (or not). palms1 03-01-2008, 11:48 AM I thought i had better get one in quick before any "catty" remarks are made :grin: but will be back with a smudge probably in a day or two Palms Swampy 03-01-2008, 11:59 AM Well done, Palms. You really pulled out this kitty's expression. Steve Conway 03-01-2008, 12:40 PM MGM PRESENTS................ Steve C. sylvia1065 03-01-2008, 12:45 PM I decided to try a smudge of the cat... (not really my specialty :) ) Sylvia Swampy 03-01-2008, 01:16 PM MGM again some neat brush strokes, Steve. Sylvia.. smudging is not my forte either (that's why I painted mine after I attempted to smudge it...LOL), but yours is a magnificent lion indeed. lkroll 03-01-2008, 01:56 PM Thanks for the play Dee Dee. :) alexmeta 03-01-2008, 02:26 PM Very quality photo, Swampy. You guys very talented artists. All works wonderful. Photoshop CS3 Cutout Other versions (http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c148/alexmeta/To%20Forum/To%20RetouchPro/Lion%20on%20the%20rocks/) Swampy 03-01-2008, 03:18 PM IK.. yours is a very hairy beast! Love the texture Alexmeta, you've captured him quite well. Peter S 03-01-2008, 04:11 PM Meow (couldn't let you down Palms) Great pic Swampy I've a feeling this will get revisited a few times. Peter 0lBaldy 03-01-2008, 04:43 PM LOL@Palms.. She made the first "Catty" remark! Seeing as how Swampy posted for all the "Smudgers" (or not).. I Thought I would try this AHB thingy everyone is talking about because my other smudged kitty attempt came out pretty bad dkcoats 03-01-2008, 05:40 PM I couldn't smudge my way out of a paper bag, so I did mine in Painter (& CS2). Thanks again, Swampy. sylvia1065 03-01-2008, 05:50 PM Sylvia.. smudging is not my forte either (that's why I painted mine after I attempted to smudge it...LOL), but yours is a magnificent lion indeed. Well, thank you, Swampy !!! Smudging has never been my thing, as it takes too long for my taste, but this one took me about 45 mns, which is not TOO bad. It's one of the first time I try a real smudge, and I'm pretty pleased with the results... Will have to try it again... Sylvia byRo 03-01-2008, 07:26 PM Once again, many thanks to Swampy for the fun image. :bigthmb: I did some "pre"-processing (mostly D&B) and liked the enhanced look, so I'm posting it. The art is AHB and then my usual heavy-handed post-processing. Rô Joeven 03-01-2008, 10:28 PM I had fun with this one. Used Painter and Photoshop. Joe palms1 03-02-2008, 08:26 AM Thought i would go for a soft smudge on this one great submissions by every one Ol baldy your other kitty wasnt that bad Peter i knew i could rely on you Ro i am a big fan of your heavy-handed pp approach :bigthmb: Palms pavel123 03-02-2008, 08:31 AM Other versions (http://s26.photobucket.com/albums/c148/alexmeta/To%20Forum/To%20RotouchPro/Lion%20on%20the%20rocks/) Alex, very impressive collection, and all looking good. Pavel Peter S 03-02-2008, 02:17 PM Thought i would go for a soft smudge on this one great submissions by every one Ol baldy your other kitty wasnt that bad Peter i knew i could rely on you Ro i am a big fan of your heavy-handed pp approach :bigthmb: Palms Now I like to think of myself as reliable, - confirmation at last. Well you've done a tute on AHB how about one on Smudging - that one is great. Peter 0lBaldy 03-03-2008, 01:49 AM Now I like to think of myself as reliable, - confirmation at last. Well you've done a tute on AHB how about one on Smudging - that one is great. Peter Peter, I concur and second the vote.. A Tut on Smudging from Palms sounds like an excellent idea! Blurred background on this one and just used the smudge brush on the rest Me thinks that smudging would go much better and faster using a "Tablet" instead of this crummy mouse I'm using.. ~~Before~~~Smudge Brush~ palms1 03-03-2008, 05:54 AM Thank you Peter and Ol'Baldy But a tut is not worth doing it is all out there already I have tried to put as much info out as i could find and posted here http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/photo-art-resources/20346-smudging-resources.html and questions could always be posted there and advice given by all I have thought about adding a few bits there soon While a tablet isnt a must for smudging you are right it is easier and quicker with one ( and i only have a cheap one they do make a difference in ahb work.selecting, erasing etc as well ) Palms mikajomc 03-03-2008, 12:20 PM OB- really like your second one, and I'm not sure anything makes smudging easier! So, Swampy posts a great photo and everyone contributes fabulous works of art. I think I'm sensing a pattern here. :) Here's mine done in painter & Photoshop palms1 03-03-2008, 02:22 PM Uh Oh i have been experimenting needs some more working out etc but here's what i have so far ! ! !
