Well based on the fact that it is intended to remain photographic, I vote as follows:-

1. OlBaldy as it retains the best photographic look, however I would have liked more of the original in the pic
2. Lonk, but it is moving towards a more artistic presentation
3. CathyH, but I'd have liked more of the original and the tree doesn't quite look the real deal to me
4. PhotoB, I can appreciate the light shift and keeping the fir trees does it for me, also like the variation in tones between the grass and trees, but your bare very dark predominant tree just didn't complete it for me.
5. I have to give Dataflow my last vote, due to the amended variation in tone

Additional comments:

This was really difficult given the lack of entries, sorry mikkimicole your water line was just not good enough and Ikroll, you failed photographic entirely in my mind.

Was looking forward to an influx of wonderful entries toward the end. Was disappointed when it didn't happen.

If it was up to me I would give a Three way tie for first place... Cassidy, Cathy, Lonk

1. Cassidy.. You kept most of the detail of the original and I think all the intricate detail suffered when reduced down to less than 100K..

2. Cathy H.. A tough decision, cause I like it a LOT! the only thing that put you in second in my mind was the lack of retention of the original elements.. Other than that, It is an excellent picture

3. Lonk.. What a great rendition.. all the elements go together so well.

4. Dataflow.. You kept it original but the lack of embellishments makes it look bland and ............. Green!

5. PhotoB.. You also kept it true to the original but it didn't reach out and grab me and like I stated above was just.. Green.

1. Olbaldy - very nice, and when I first looked at your entry I was way put off, thinking I couldn't come close to how nice yours looked. Very springy!
2. Cassidy - I really like how you put leaves on the main tree, how did you do it?
3. Lonk - very nice foreground, the boat house seems to be to bright or clear ?
4. Mikkimicole - good start, could use some more work on the other elements behind tree.
5. PhotoB - kind of dark but I like the blue sky

Great job everyone.

The turnout this month was a bit light, but we had some excellent entries. Good job, everyone!
