Hi ,

I have recently started to try a little retouching with my new
purchase , elements 6. Does anyone know if it is possible to
whiten teeth using elements and if so , how?

Thanks

Brian

BrianHi Brian:

Welcome to RetouchPRO.

Good info in the link Swampy noted. Multiple ways to skin the cat in Photoshop; here's an easy way in Elements.

In a nutshell...
* Add a hue/saturation adjustment layer (see):

http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/ss/adjustmentlayer_7.htm

* From the Edit menu, choose: Yellow
* Drag saturation slide to the far left (as far as you think looks OK)
* Drag lightness slider to the right just a touch (to lighten)
* OK to close the dialog
* Fill the hue/sat layer with black
* With foreground color set to white, use airbrush to "paint" (white) on the hue/sat layer to reveal the whitened teeth

Good overall article on the concept here:

Hope this gets you going.
