Not technically my grandpa, but he's my grandma's brother.

I retouched a photo of my grandma a while back from the same period of time, so when my aunt saw that, she sent this photo to me and asked if I could do it again.

When I saw he had no arm, I figured, no, I can't do it again, are you crazy?!

Anyway, I came across this site just today and have gone through practically every tutorial and looked at many threads. This seems to be a great place! So, what do you guys think of my work? I'm open to compliments and criticisms; I'm a new member afterall.

Thanks,
Muriel

I'm not a typical restorator, in fact I have never done a real restoration work. I know however how hard it is to work with broken or low quality pictures and here are my thoughts:

I think you have done quite a job and that arm is not an easy thing to create. The arm is not perfect and needs some work, otherwise I think it's a good effort.

Thank you!

How would you work on the arm? I think it needs something too, but can't quite figure out what...

Well, I'm no expert in restoration, really :) I think that the angle of the torso is making the drawn arm look just a bit strange. But really, you know that people in this business have quite sharp eyes, I let my friends to look at this photo and the thought it was awesome without anything weird in it.

Yeah, I thought the same thing about the torso. Although, it does make me wonder what his *original* arm was doing?
