I'm trying to use this picture in just the oval shape. Whenever I flatten the image I get a white background and the shape is now rectangular again. I want to use it on a website (just the image, not the white background) Can I do that in Adobe CS2? If I place the image on a colored background of my site, it looks just like the thumbnail does right now.

Thanks,

Shelley L.

jpeg doesn't support transparency. Use .gif or .png instead.

hi,
First my reply is very similar to Billfrey...
also I am a novice but maybe my reply can help with additional info

the short answer to your question is YES you can do that in your photoshop! i do this all the time...

1. jpg does not save transparency info... so you can't use that format!!
2. Now png can save transparency info but I don't think it can be used in a website because it not a webpage graphic standard.... but I maybe wrong...
3. so your best format . for transparency, to use for a website is gif!!!

the main thing is that before saving, make sure you have created the transpearency areas you want... you should see a checkerboard pattern, this indicates your transparency.... and then do a save as and save in gif.
you'll probably get a couple of windows.. and just make sure in the index windows you have transparency check marked and whatever other setting you want... that it..,,,,
