Have fun if you will DannyRaphael 03-20-2008, 08:25 PM I thought the village was an excellent BW candidate. Thank you for sharing your photos. sylvia1065 03-20-2008, 10:13 PM Beautiful picture, Amica. Thanks for sharing! Sylvia palms1 03-21-2008, 03:56 AM Nice images Amica Palms amica999 03-21-2008, 06:20 AM Thank you and wow, beautiful outcome to all, personally I like the b/w interpretation of Danny best, absolutely catching the ruins :-) LonK 03-21-2008, 11:20 AM Beautiful shots Amica999. Added sky and reflection. Modified perspective to give the comp more dynamic. Curve for contrast. Pumped saturation. Blended impressionist chalk for artistic flavor. amica999 03-21-2008, 11:31 AM Beautiful Lonnie, wish we had the sky as blue when we were there :-) Looks great. Thanks for playing kimlou 03-21-2008, 04:12 PM Here's my go... Palms, love your attempt! Thanks for the pic. amica999 03-21-2008, 04:14 PM very grunchy, kimlou, like that one palms1 03-22-2008, 03:14 AM Thank you, Kimlou I think i have gone to the dark side lately  but it makes a change from the over saturated look i also like Do i detect that you also are venturing into the dark and grungy style ? Palms kimlou 03-22-2008, 04:57 AM Thank you, Kimlou I think i have gone to the dark side lately  but it makes a change from the over saturated look i also like Do i detect that you also are venturing into the dark and grungy style ? Palms Well I thought I would give it a go, it just seems right for this image! Swampy 03-22-2008, 08:27 AM Amica, you found my weak spot. Love to paint old buildings. Watercolor with PST. palms1 03-22-2008, 10:09 AM Amica, you found my weak spot. Love to paint old buildings. Watercolor with PST. Very nice Swampy I keep trying the pst tool, get a bit better each time :) Palms amica999 03-22-2008, 11:36 AM Very nice Swampy, Berlin has more old buildings than you would like :-) Will keep your weekness in mind next time I go shooting, will take a while as winter came back :-) Attached another one to bridge the waiting :-) kimlou 03-22-2008, 12:21 PM I wasn't going to do this image but Lonnie did such a beautiful rendition it inspired me to have a go. Swampy 03-22-2008, 12:31 PM Palms, Painting soft watercolors has become a challenge since getting my Intel Mac and not having BUZZ available. I can get to BUZZ, but I have to quit Photoshop, set it for Rosetta mode, relaunch Photoshop, do BUZZ, quit, reset Photoshop for Intel, then load the buzzed version. What a pain. In the mean time I working on new ways to simplify an image for painting and I kind of liking the minimalist look I've been getting with cutout, drybrush and other filters when faded. Getting just enough "painted" effect on the version that will be saved as the Pattern is 3/4 of the battle. The PST brushes themselves offer some great watercolor effects especially the ones with wet edges at mid to low opacity, LonK 03-22-2008, 01:17 PM Here's my take on the other photo, obviously goin' for drama... Cloned out power lines Punched up sky Perspective correction Crop for composition PWL against sepia vignette Embossed painterly kimlou 03-22-2008, 01:36 PM Never really had much luck with the pattern stamp tool so I thought I'd give it another go (inspired by Swampy). So here's my first real attempt with the pst. amica999 03-22-2008, 03:15 PM Lonnie, Kimlou, nice interpretations here. I personally like the "sinistre" look with this picture :-) Swampy 03-22-2008, 03:31 PM Keep it up, Kim. That is nice. kimlou 03-22-2008, 03:35 PM Thanks Swampy, glad to know I'm on the right lines with it (at last!) mikajomc 03-22-2008, 05:57 PM Kim- great job with the PST, sometimes I get really disappointed with it and other times I just love the results I get Swampy- thanks for the PST tips Everyone has done wonderful work, but Sylvia, your soft pastel look really stood out for me. As for all the grungy looks, I went for something a bit more colorful. Maybe a bit too colorful, but at least I'm different :) sylvia1065 03-23-2008, 11:29 AM Thank you, Jordan :) Sylvia pavel123 03-23-2008, 12:06 PM Thank you for the photos. Pavel amica999 03-23-2008, 01:47 PM @Jordan and Pavel, nice work indeed kimlou 03-23-2008, 05:54 PM Keep coming back to this image, couldn't resist another go now I have impressionist plug-in! |
