Hi to everybody:

I have been asking, reading, posting retoucher pics waiting for your opinions, and I think that I have to give somethin, not only get.

Here is a link to a hig-res picture (photographer Mayte Villares). Feel free to apply your skills on it.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/24792572@N03/2360866278/sizes/l/

Please, donīt misunderstood me. I donīt want retouch for free. You can retouch it but I am not waiting for the final high-res result. Just post your trys here in the forum.

I hope you enjoy it.

The image is not high res but i was bored tonight and had a play anyway.
I don't consider it 'finished' and wouldn't bother to be honest.
I still see stuff i would work at but you gotta draw the line somewhere
with images this small.

Thanks for the file though Javier.

Wow man, this is amazing. How did you got that skin color?

Thanks, although i looked at it again just now and thought it was quite
average. Ha.

For the skin color i used some selective color, gradient map, curves in
color mode, and a gradient map with blue to desaturate slightly. (it's at 4%)

I noticed the desaturating and tried some selective color but for the life of me couldn't get it to match yours. There was definitely some major tweaking on the red channel. Great work. Do you remember the selective color settings?

Something like reds(c+4, m-10, y-15), yellows(m-8,y-16)
but there was more to it than just that move.

Obviously. Again, great work. Color manipulation is not my strongest point. Skin, no problem, body manipulation, sure thing. Color correcting.... HELP!

Here's my take. Just a simple retouch, cleaned up the skin, corrected the color, enhanced the eyes, fixed the makeup, added a bit of shaping via D&B. Just wanted her natural beauty to shine through.

Hi Cusar:

You have done a good job (IMO better the second).

I am not a profesional (no yet), but I have learned a lot from people from this forum, and you have to consider that retouch is not only skin. If you have a look to your picture, you can see many things to repair, like eyelashes, blowing hairs, etc. It helps to final result.

Donīt misunderstand me. Is not a bad critique. I have to work a lot in my skills too. Continous learning. But I am absolutely sure that our better skill is to take the necesary time to look at the picture and decide what to retouch to improve the pic and what not.

Hope it helps....and I insist: good job, really.

Thanks for your comment :)

Im just Beginner in Beauty Retouch and this was like my first real work.
I have to learn many many things, and work on the details, as you said.

Sure, Beauty Retouch is not just the skin, but i think i retouched more than just the skin - maybe its hard to see, e.g Dodge&Burn, a little the nose and some hair too :)

If you want, you can write a PM and tell me exactly what you mean what i could change in the last version. Im still working on it, and looking forward for every help and critic =)

Bye.

Looks Great! Color! tone! The reconstruction make a big improvement in her look. Not sure what you mean about loose hairs. You can't do that kind of work and not be able to clone out flyaway hairs.

Thanks JD! Glad that you liked it.
I just thought that the loose hair coupled with the 'messy' eyelashes do not give it a finished look. Just being fussy! :-)
