This image of French Bulldog turned out fuzzy, epecially noticable in the face. I need to sharpen this so it does not look altered. I have tried Smart Sharpen in CS3 but it still looks this same to me. The original tif file, when printed on 8 x 10 just looks bad. Is there any hope for this picture?

I am heading for the office right now so I hope there will be some good news when I came home this afternoon. Any suggestions would be greatly apprecialed.

Personally, I'd do a highpass filter, set it to overlay and then reduce the opacity a little, on the published pic I set it to 2.1 and then reduced the opacity to around 65% in overlay mode

Or, take it to LAB mode, go into channels and sharpen the lightness channel.

Do a Two-Pass sharpening

You could try Focus Magic on another layer and blend it in
