I've seen people add this effect to lips before was wondering if anyone knows of any good tutorials on this subject? Everything I try ends up looking like a bloody pixar model

Copy that look by doing the following: Create a blank layer on top of everything. Use a white soft brush and paint in a few highlights at a low flow, maybe 10% or less on the bottom lip. Paint a continuous or discontinuous thin to med-thick line, following the contour of the lower lip across the fat portion (meaning where the lip sticks out farthest from the body, and put it where the light would reflect normally), maybe 30% of the length of the lip and also create a white line on the skin above the center lip dip. Go to filter>blur>Gaussian blur and try different degrees of blur to de-harshen the highlight and adjust this layers opacity so it looks real. skydog 04-06-2008, 06:24 AM Stefan ... if you wouldn't use this tutorial ..what would you do? JavierT 04-06-2008, 12:35 PM Stefan ... if you wouldn't use this tutorial ..what would you do? I agree with Subxaero. I have been trying that tutorial and, for me, it doesnīt give you very good results, not realistic. I think this is the reason cause stefan posted " Donīt use this tutorial". Anyway, its you up. I often use Olbaldy way, may be slower but, with practice, you can get more realistic wet look. subxaero 04-07-2008, 02:21 AM javier is just right. Baldy posted the way that i'd go for first. its a super base and you really take control of things (and dont make lips look like covered in c*m ;)) you can also push baldy's way with advanced masking using channels and stuff...but this pwl/d&b-way is the one you'd stick to :) ray12 06-20-2008, 05:38 PM There is a link on the net somewhere for "Lip Gloss Brushes" that come from real models... and there are 30 different kinds of glosses, both top and bottom to choose from. They look super and natural because they are glosses shot in a studio...they go on just like a regular brush and you can infinitely adjust them. Ill see if I can locate the link again. subxaero 06-21-2008, 02:38 AM There is a link on the net somewhere for "Lip Gloss Brushes" that come from real models... and there are 30 different kinds of glosses, both top and bottom to choose from. Ray, glad you popped back in... Have been waiting since 02-27-2007, for a view of that library of special retouching and makeup brushes and textures for repairing skin, painting in hair, hair textures, different kinds of eyelashes and lip glosses and even eyeshadow and lipstick palettes that you were working on... seems to me that you said you were working on some Lip Gloss Brushes, Eye Lash Brushes and Eye Catch Light Brushes in order to spice up a retouch. Two questions for ya, 1. Was just wondering... Any samples?? and 2. Whatever happened with the "The Infinitely Adjustable Portrait" video?? chillin 06-21-2008, 11:54 PM Here (http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1377229/lucious_lips_with_photoshop/) I have found a tutorial: "luscious Lips with Photoshop". |
