Maybe the people who do this everday could enlighten us on what equipment they use,such as computers monitors,tablets mouse, etc....
even some of the software might be helpful

At work: Powermac G5 2.5 Ghz quad, 4 GB RAM, OS X 10.4.11, Wacom Intuos 3 6x9, Photoshop CS3, Apple 20" monitor. Oddly, no color management or calibration whatsoever.

Previous job: Powermac G5 2.5 Ghz dual, 4 GB RAM, OS X 10.3.9, Wacom Intuos 3 9x12, Photoshop CS2, Eizo monitors, Gretag Macbeth Eye-1 calibrators in a Dalim color managed late-bind workflow with accurate Virtual Proofing set up for about a dozen commercial printer and paper stock combinations.

At home: iMac 20" 2.1 Ghz G5, 2.5 GB RAM, OS X 10.4.11, Wacom Intuos 2 9x12, Photoshop CS2, Gretag Macbeth Eye-1. I'm moving to CS3 and an Intel Mac soon, trying to decide if I want to get the tablet Macbook or a desktop machine and a Wacom Cintiq.

Of course, when all else fails I have to pull out the Retouching Hammer.

the big cintiq is cool....i would go with that abe. i wish i had the room for one at home, and a spare $2500 for it!
