Hi!
I shot this photo as a business portrait for a friend. I tried to remove the chin, but I don´t know how!

Also I think the skin could look a little healthier. I know it should not look like a glossy magazine look, since it should be a business portrait - but to my mind she would be glad if it would look a little better.

Please feel free to post your recommendations and I´ll be happy for your info!

You need something like this (more or less)? You have compressed the pic a lot ("0" quality jpeg compresión) and is so, so, so damaged.

I dont know your photoshop level. For the chin I think is enough if you dodge the shadow to match the color of the neck. For the rest, dodge carving the shadows or, if it´s a lot of work, you can use any of the portraits plugins, not the best results but faster and quicker. It depends the money you will earn with the job.

I have done just a little cause the pic is so damaged.

Had a go at it using Photoshop CS ... Liquify filter, smudge painting and some light brush work. Balanced the colors with curves and selective coloring. Not a bad result. If I were a better artist it would be perfect.

Here's my try. I did some cloning and coloring over the double chin, and then liquify. Also liquify on the face to slim it some. Softened it up the skin some and lightened the hair. Changed the skin tone too, but...that could be better.

I too used liquify...the tutorial above is a good example for the use of the tool

You can´t upload a hig-res directly in the forum thread. Here you post a reference (100 kb) and you need a web place to upload the high res. Flickr, rapidshare, ......

I think Olbaldy have added to his post how to do this. I will check out.

Many different Ideas you got for your picture. If you like it, imaging how far you can go with no extremly compressed file.

Edit: I agree the loaded photo was of poor quality, full of pixels. But anyway I liked the challenge.

I may have gone too far but I think if you remove the double chin you have to take something off the cheek. If not, removing the double chin only makes her face look fatter.

Thanks for the positive feedback! I no longer have the layered file - but as I recall I only used the liquify and clone/heal tools. In the future I'll be sure to note the steps. I did that one very quick and late at night so I don't remember much - sorry!

Do you mind sharing your steps? - Did you work a lot with liquify or how did you handle the double chin especially the right side of the face, which is in shadow - I had problems to slim this side becaus it did not fit the neck very well.

Thanks very much! In my opinion your retouching is absolutely great - because she will still see herself in the picture. A little question: what did you mean with carving the shadows - do you have a psd file to understand the subject better? Thanks for your your help again:)

I kept her face full which I think suits her well.
Hopefully I didn't overdo the makeup with Photoshopmama's powder and some
Portraiture.

Hey it worked...

I'm adding another more slimmed down version.
I would keep the squareness of her jaw which I think is very attractive
with her features. Probably how she looked a few pounds ago in a golden
light with a soft focus, I think.

here is my try...i' ve also made her more thin(only using liquify for the face and cloning for the doublechin)...what do you think?

Hi Budiono. Thanks for your comment. As far i as i can remember i used liquify+tranfmormation tool. For the right part i have redrawn a little bit the chin using the cloning tool.
