Whenever i make something small with text in it it comes out horribly pixelated. All i do is bevel and emboss and drop shadow. Why is this? And by small i mean 4 inch or less. Shouldn't the text be smooth?

You say "comes out"... is this text meant for print or screen? What resolution are you working at? If for print, increase the resolution of your file. Quiglet 04-10-2008, 05:46 PM Lol im sorry yes i am using photoshop and i am a total newbie so im not sure how to check what resolution i am working with. I have Photoshop CS 8.0 and i do need to print. Swampy 04-10-2008, 06:06 PM You have the option when you create a new document to set the resolution. For the current document. Use Image>Size and set the size and resolution there. Littlecoo 04-10-2008, 06:29 PM As Swampy said, you really need to create a higher resolution file from the start to get decent prints. A good resolution for printing is 300dpi for images and text. Quiglet 04-11-2008, 10:48 AM You guys are awesome thank you. Now how do i install new font? I have serpentine and i need it in my fonts. SilvaFox 04-11-2008, 10:59 AM Also, check the options bar at the top to make sure your type is set to anything but "None" smak 04-11-2008, 11:08 AM Windows; drag the font file into C:\windows\fonts Quiglet 04-11-2008, 11:23 AM Thank you guys so much You saved me. keep up the good work and this wont be the last you see of me. Swampy 04-11-2008, 11:24 AM Mac: Drag the font into... User's (your home folder)/Library/Fonts. It may require a reboot of Photoshop or the OS. to be recognized. I use a font manager, so I don't know the rest of the story. |
