This is my son, Nathaniel, who is almost 10 years old ("double digits" as he likes to point out to me).

I shot this a couple days ago during a trip to the Pacific Ocean (Ocean Shores, Washington). I liked how the sun from our hotel window lighted his face.

Have fun!

Started out trying the "Hill" thingy using a couple High pass filters.. it was looking pretty good .. then I thought about the watercolor tut mentioned in another thread (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/photo-based-art/21493-creative-interpretations-southern-church.html#post189872) and thought I would try to make it work using PS7... so I went from the "Hill" thingy straight into the water color tut.
Sooo, it is a combination..
Hope you like.

Started by doing a ahb version , then i thought hmm Danny's photo, of course have to do a black and white as well ! ! !

Peter great work ( I have noticed you were in first :aghast:)

Olbaldy that is what i think of as a evolving technique ( nothing to do with being indecisive :) but these always turn out good like yours has )

Swampy that is great great technique

Gilbert glad to see you posting, although if i may say it would of been better with one of your great paintings, i have missed seeing them :)

I know it 's folly to complain
Of whatsoe'er the fates decree,
Yet, were not wishes all in vain,
I tell you what my wish should be:
I 'd wish to be a boy again,
Back with the friends I used to know.
For I was, oh, so happy then---
But that was very long ago!

Got on this thread rather late, but had to take a try at Nathaniel. This was done using the impressionist plugin.

Danny, he's a good-looking lad. There's a lot of dignity there (I hope he takes that as a compliment).

This is a Painter/CS2 effort.
