Hi Everyone!
my today's problem is how to remove the red blood stains from hands while the face is white (see attachment-sorry I had to remove eyes in order of rights and permissions-even if uploading such a light pic doesn't help a lot, I guess I should post somewhere else on this site)...I do have some idea about but I'll appreciate your advice. You have posted a very small (thumbnail) version. It is hard to see what the problem is, let alone how best to fix it.

you should try using adjustments layers with a layer mask of the part that you want to improve. I think that hue/saturation adjustment layer will help you at first.

Try this setting in apply image. You will need to restore the red in the lips after though.

Hi Chris, thanks for your super ad!
1) Meanwhile I did some test by myself and I realised that the point was to choose the Blend Mode 'Lighter Color' so I had some interesting result with a white brush (7-10%) set in that mode. Do you agree?
2) By the way I have to admit that I never tried before that 'Apply Image' powerful option. This reason why I wish learn more about. Could you suggest me a Tutorial or something else?
I had a look at your site, I'm speechless, I like everything in it (including the white fresh design) I have seen that you wrote (at least) two books- I guess I'll buy them.
I'm not one of the fabulous Photographers who are your clients, but how I could have an idea of your price list?

I used a selective color adjustment layer and backed off on the magenta. Of course you can paint out the mask as needed for the lips, etc.

I used an approach similar to Chris. I duplicated the background layer and using Apply Image, applied the Red channel in Lighter Color Mode masked through the Green channel inverted but left the opacity at 100%. Then I changed the resulting layers Blend Mode to Luminosity. I then created a new merged layer on top duplicated it and repeated the Apply Image a 2nd time with the same settings as the first time. The result was the color image attached below. The rectangles on the hand were the darker areas I think you referred to as the Blood Stains. I created another merged layer and Difference blended it against the original. As you can see it lightened the skin overal but moreso where the darker stains were. As you can see by the green area, it also affected the lips. So after the 1st Apply Image you need to add a Layer Mask and paint Black over the lips. Copy the layer mask to the final merged layer to restore the lips the 2nd time. (I did not mask for illustrative purposes).
