HI all,

I am in the middle of making a composite of some images and I have an idea that I would like to use but not sure how to execute it.

the background image is one image and the other one I would like to add in so it is cut into the other,,slit along the corners, but with the image sort of bulging at the corners.

The below image sort of shows what I want to do but not with the bulges. I hope I have made myself clear.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can apply some dropdown shadow to the pic on top and also on the sides of the cuts. This is just to start it.

It's all about light and shadow. I distorted the edges slightly to give the impression of the bulge, and then add a slight shadow at the overlaps of the image. Even when you don't notice it, the eye picks up shadows as a clue to depth. When the shadows are missing, you know something is wrong and the image looks flat. This is quick and dirty, but you can get the idea.

Thanks Rhasval, will give it a go.

Dave.Cox. Thanks that is a start and looks much better already. I was also talking about the corners of the small picture bulging underneath the cuts. I'll give your suggestion a go thanks.

Where ever you want to make the bulges, its pretty much the same. Just add the appropriate shadowing, and maybe distort the straight lines to give them some curve. If you need something to refer to, try doing one for real, and take a photo of it.

Thanks Dave.Cox. I am trying that as we speak.
