View Full Version : Apple Blossoms CathyH 05-01-2008, 06:21 PM Here is a photo I took today of some apple blossoms. And I also used some filters to try to make it look like a painting.
what do you think, it is kind of small to see the details. :depressed DannyRaphael 05-02-2008, 09:23 AM Here is a photo I took today of some apple blossoms. And I also used some filters to try to make it look like a painting.

Nice pic to work with, though. CathyH 05-02-2008, 05:09 PM Thanks Danny.
I tried to do the same steps to the lower res photo to see if it would show up better on the here. amica999 05-02-2008, 05:40 PM Cathy, beautiful photo...really nice lkroll 05-02-2008, 05:52 PM ...Glass. :) Sweetlight 05-02-2008, 08:30 PM My shot at it.
Kathy, Let me say what a beautiful shot. The perfect shallow depth of field, deep saturation because of the open shadow setting which gave you that great saturation. It all clicked, nice shot!
c coilte 05-02-2008, 10:47 PM Here is my meager attempt at art. I used a modified version of Swampy's Watercolor Tutorial.
Jim Sweetlight 05-02-2008, 11:17 PM Colite,
Don't sell yourself short. That actually looks pretty sweet. I might bump up the contrast a bit, maybe a find a true black and white using curves?
Looks good though,

Hi Jim I have used her watercolor tutorial a lot it is neat how it comes out different when you change the brushes. I like yours too.
I'm really glad you all took the time to work on the photo. :bigthmb: Kraellin 05-05-2008, 09:46 PM lovely picture. gotta love springtime :)

Peter CathyH 05-10-2008, 07:09 PM Hi Peter, I don't mind at all, I think yours is great and the flowers are so different than may flowers and leaves. Must be a different verity of apple.
How did you do the painting? it has nice color and brush strokes.

Thanks Cathy, I don't know what variety it is but it gives large cooking apples 4 - 5 inched across, heavy if they land on you, even heavier to carry when cropping them.
This was done with the smudge brush using Trimoons #23 presets in Photoshop.
Peter CathyH 05-11-2008, 06:07 AM I will have to try those brushes Pete, because it gave a nice effect.
My tree is old and has small uneatable apples, although the squirrels like them.
