Hi everybody! My today's problem is how to obtain 'this' effect (see attached picture). If you like to see a better, wider image, go to this link: http://periodici.repubblica.it/d/, the last issue of the Magazine, N° 595, pages 6-7. In facts quite all the magazine's (an Italian fashion Magazine I really like) picture are Hi-contrast, darken pictures (see the cover). Which are your suggestions? Enjoy!

You mean how her skin has a lot of contrast but the other objects in the picture, like the background and her clothes, aren't quite as high contrast?
You play with the curves/contrast of the entire image while looking at how it effects her skin only. Then you paint in that contrast in a masked layer on her skin only.
That perserves the background and clothes, while making her skin contrasted.
You would then have to make a layer for color correction/saturation, as making the skin so high contrast will make it look discolored and/or bright red.
That's my take on it. I'm not an expert though! :)
