Hi,

like to know how to make a realistic shiny black floor as show in the sample pic attached. there is a slight grad, lighter at the back.

The Background is a very subtile grad slightly darker at the top. (only the feet/floor shown here.

can anyone show me how to make this.

regards

I selected the blue channel and duplicated it, used levels to make the image black and white and the made a selection o the black.
Discarded the extra channel. Jumped the selection to a new layer and used difference blend mode at 80% fill. Masked out the shoes and legs.

tonyIt's not the gradient that makes it look shiny, it's the reflection.

I did this pretty quick. The background is a gradient. I made the floor with a reflected gradient and added noise and pixelate for texture. I adjusted the brightness with a gradient selection on a brightness/contrast adjustment layer clipped to the floor layer.

The reflection is what would really make it work though.
