Don't tempt us! :D
I like that design...looks just like an old label for a medicine bottle. A little RetouchPro snake oil? Doug Nelson 05-21-2002, 02:36 PM That's what I had in mind, but I don't care for my font, and I wanted more curleycues and stuff. I thought it went with the old photo thing. rondon 05-21-2002, 02:51 PM looks good
RonDon Sanda 05-21-2002, 03:45 PM To Touch is Good but Retouch is Better G. Couch 05-21-2002, 05:20 PM How about a superhero shirt? ...some of those restoration challenges DO require superhuman ability! :D Vikki 05-21-2002, 05:58 PM Doug - love your design. Very timely looking. ghoffman 05-21-2002, 07:24 PM Doug, Greg,
I like both your ideas. Hopefully I'll be adding another t-shirt to my collection pretty soon.
Gene They're both great. I don't know which one I like better.
Ed G. Couch 05-21-2002, 08:06 PM My design was more for entertainment purposes...if we actually got shirts made, it would probably be more cost effective to stick with one solid color (like Doug's design) and maybe a screen of that color. Anyone work for a screenprinter? Brandee 05-21-2002, 09:19 PM What about an on-line service? Cafe Press is slightly cheaper, but http://www.99dogs.com/ offers a larger variety of sizes and colors (including black)... you can create a free on-line store, set up the prices and anyone interested in grabbing a shirt can order directly from the company (which saves you cost out of pocket!). 99dogs also accepts vector art, which will print beautifully! Just something to consider. (: fugitive 05-21-2002, 10:56 PM I just did this while watching NYPD. It's not really the concept I had in mind but I can't figure out how to do curved text right now.
It's almost funny, but what the hay. Doug Nelson 05-22-2002, 12:54 AM I have been looking at Cafe Press. Thanks for the 99dogs link, I'll check them out.
Now we just need a design and/or a slogan :) d_kendal 05-22-2002, 12:58 AM cool idea for making shirts! maybe this could be done as a fundraiser for the server costs etc. of Retouchpro?
- David :) Doug Nelson 05-22-2002, 01:04 AM That's the general idea. That, and it would be a hoot :) BigAl 05-22-2002, 01:46 AM Thumbs up for Doug's "snake oil" design.
Now for the front. Doug Nelson 05-22-2002, 04:21 AM Front is easy :)
For the brave early-adopters out there, try this on for size (http://www.cafepress.com/retouchpro). CJ Swartz 05-22-2002, 09:38 AM One down - 999,999,999 to go!
Next time -- a choice of color other than white for the T-shirt would be good -- ash, neutral, puice...
That website's arrangements for group's e-business looks like a good idea for volunteer groups. Doug, do you have to give them a percentage? Doug Nelson 05-22-2002, 09:50 AM They have an ash t-shirt, but whatever the shirt color is makes up the 'white' value. The site has a price they charge for the shirt, and you set the selling price. The difference is the 'profit'.
They charge nothing for setting up your own store, so I encourage looking around. This would be a good thing for possible add-on restoration sales, etc.
99dogs.com looks good, too. Plus they have two different printing styles. I'm sure there are other companies out there, as well.
Thanks for buying one, btw. Let us know how you like it. Doug Nelson 05-22-2002, 10:00 AM BTW, if anyone does try cafepress.com for your own business, list 'retouchpro' (no caps) as the referrer and we'll get a dime everytime you sell a shirt :) G. Couch 05-22-2002, 10:25 AM Wow! Cool link Brandee.
I have to have a coffee mug...I would put that to very good use! DJ Dubovsky 05-22-2002, 09:32 PM Excellent ideas everyone. Like the design you came up with Doug.
