View Full Version : First one in... DJ Dubovsky 08-09-2001, 02:48 PM So Doug do I get a prize for being the first member to sign on to the new site. :) Ha Ha
It's alot different in ways but I love the easier formatting. I think this will be the start of a good thing.
Congratulations on your new home "server"
DJ thomasgeorge 08-09-2001, 04:48 PM Doug, I finally figured out how to get re registered!!! OH it is painful to be dragged at my age kicking and screaming into this brave new digital world! I like the new look and you are sure right about this not being Kansas any more. I think Toto got plattered on the electronic yellow brick road-- or perhaps it was just a busted fanbelt I saw. Tom Doug Nelson 08-09-2001, 07:46 PM Y'all are starting to trickle in. It's been lonely over here :(
Funny how the switch was made for some people, but not for all. Oh well, I'll keep pasting the messages over until everyone's been switched. DJ Dubovsky 08-09-2001, 08:00 PM Doug,
You mean all the others are still on the old server? I thought we would all move to the new site at the same time.
DJ airubin 08-09-2001, 08:02 PM Good luck Doug.
It will take some getting used to, but it should all fall into place.
Alan I like the looks of it for sure! It will take a little getting used to, but I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.
I think Debbie deserves one "attagirl" for being the first.:)
Ed Hi Everybody--I made it! Good to see all the familiar faces. Is it just me or does this feel like the first day of school??? ;)
Amanda farron 08-09-2001, 11:55 PM Hi All!
I've been wandering around looking at the new forum.
Lookin' good, Doug.
May take this old woman a bit to get used to the new bells and whistles, but I think we are all gonna like 'em.
Ohhhh! And I see the Archives have a good start. What is that one with the magical floating baby???
Ha Ha,
Farron Doug Nelson 08-09-2001, 11:58 PM I love the floating baby! :) farron 08-10-2001, 12:08 AM Me, too!
It was absolutely the first thumbnail I clicked!
Birth of Houdini maybe??? *grin*
Farron Just a note on the "floating baby". If it's the photo I think you're talking about, that's my grandfather holding my mother. She was one of sixteen children, and he had a photo made with each of them like that. This one however, is the only one I know of that is still in existence.
Ed Doug Nelson 08-10-2001, 06:42 AM Was the intent to look like magic, or are we reading into it something different than he intended? Was he a professional magician or something like that? vogonpoet 08-10-2001, 07:26 AM Looks great Doug :)
the new forum and the whole new look for RetouchPro..
great work !:) ~Vp~ farron 08-10-2001, 07:46 AM Ahhhh,
We have all at times know that mothers can perform magic...And Ed has proof in that photo that his mamma (and grandpa) ARE magic!
I love it!!
Farron No, he was a carpenter. I'm not sure of the intent.
Ed Doug Nelson 08-10-2001, 08:45 AM VP:
Thanks. It's still very much a work in progress. Chris W. 08-10-2001, 05:03 PM Well I made it into the new world here..... I'm posting as fast as my little fingers will go...there's so many great people here and so much to talk about I feel like we could all visit for ages and not cover everything.
Doug, the site is fantastic.... it will be even better after I figure out all the ins and outs but I'll be scooting along in no time.
Have a great and safe day all :) paulette conlan 08-11-2001, 09:56 AM This like moving into a new house and trying to figure out where everything is and how everything works! Now to check out the infamous "floating baby". paulette |
