Hey Doug,
The new gallery format works great. I especially like that it goes back in the archives and randomly digs up stuff we have seen but forgotten. This will allow more circulation of stuff which is always more interesting. Keep up the good work. Gerry :)

There are more changes than that. It also has 'next' and 'previous' buttons for image viewing (though I don't really like how they work) and a slideshow so you can just sit back and watch them all go by. It also has user-definable albums, but I haven't really decided what to do with those yet. You can also delete your own photos if you run out of space and want to post something newer.
All part of the preparation for the big move.

Oh yes, it also has optional email notification for comments, even if it's not your picture.

Very Cool, I am excited to keep posting. Now if I could just get someone to watch my kids so I can work. :bawling:

I feel guilty (semi) that since the new format I have only commented on one picture. I take part of the blame, but I find it a bind to get to, the random entries and the two other catogories only confuse me, I find it is now an inpersonal experience, far harder to navigate succesfully than the old system and just not as easy to keep track of the submissions.
I have completed numerous challenges since the new system have been in place but have not entered any nor commented on any, its not some deliberate boycot or protest, just that I find it far less intuitive than the other. This is not to say that I find it impossible, just not as practical.
Dont wish to be negative and I realise that most others have a contry view to my own, perhaps I need an intensive course in the beneficial functions compared to the 'old' system:D

Just as this forum is much improved and easier to use than it was when we first started, the new Challenge section will get easier to use and improve. The software authors have already announced a major upgrade for next month.

What I like most about the new gallery is the "random pictures". One now gets the chance to see pictures that one may have missed when they were uploaded
A disconcerting thing is seeing the challenges in amongst other things that members are trying.
