It's my husbands 50th Birthday in November. I would like to put his head on someone's body as a gag. We want to make shirts saying Fabulous and 50th. Any suggestions on who's body I can transpose his head onto? He's a high tech, electrical engineer who can be seen with a laptop, cell phone and palm pilot in his hand...even in his sleep. I'm contimplating doing a power point with the theme of his head being transposed throughout the entire powerpoint.

Superman of course. :) Instead of the big red "S" on his chest put the number 50. Put a cell phone in his hand.

good idea Gary.
or maybe Arnold Schwartzenneger(sp??) , can't spell it but you get the idea

Arnold would be good Sandra. I'm not going to try to spell his last name. :)

Possibly some pictures of him back in his early "Terminator" days.

I'll be baaaack.:D

The Terminator or Arnold is my husbands favorite actor. Too funny. I don't know why I didn't think of it. Now to search for high res. terminator. I'd still love more suggestions... these are all great!!!

You think the gun should be replaced with a palm pilot?

Lisa

Sanda
10-08-2002, 05:48 PM
try it with a palm pilot but another thought would be a flag saying "50" coming out of the gun like those "bang guns"

He also is a Trek fan and Sopranos fan.

I don't know if this would work not knowing your husbands name but instead of the "Terminator" he could be the Hermanator-etc.

OhThatGirl2001
10-08-2002, 06:04 PM
Gary... you're going to crack up when I tell you my husband's name....
It's Basil. Doubt that would work. I'm still laughing.

That is pretty funny. :D Well there is always "Basil the Terminator".

The Basilnator (hehehehe) Say it with Arnolds accent. <g>

Another possibility for an engineer/Trekkie would be Spock. Ears and all. Lots of room for tech gadgets, too.

Hey, Spock's a cool idea... Pointy ears and neat-o gadgets...!

Beam me up, Basil....

Remember that episode of the original Star Trek where those guys with the really big heads have Captain Pike imprisoned...and they talk using telepathy? ...If you could find a picture of one of those guys (the big head guys!) and meld his face over the top...classic "high tech, electrical engineer" type! :D

OhThatGirl2001
10-08-2002, 08:46 PM
Spock is another great idea!

I love how you used the word Meld Greg. You can always spot a real Trekie by his/her lingo.

This is something completely different, but if you want something really off-the-wall, what about putting his head on a super model's (female) body? :D

Ed

OhThatGirl2001

It's not that off the wall Ed. I put my sister's head on Pam Anderson's body for her 40 and Fabulous picture. I thought I'd tackle his a little differently.

I'm just digging a picture up to work with.

That would be a way cool trick, Greg...

You could always use Russell Crowe's body from the Gladiator...

Are we helping you, Lisa? (or just having fun?) Hopefully, both. :D

Basil reminds me of Christopher Dean, the figure skater/coach.

I did find a pic around the net (Google, images, bodybuilding) which had the general posture of Basil's pic. It is black and white and out of focus, but it may be fun to see anyway. I'm sure my efforts can be vastly improvbed by others, but...

With a full front face, there are many male bodybuilding pics around. Good luck on your project.

The picture was found at: http://www.haywired.com/bodybuilding/home.html

Yes... I'm having fun! First bit of fun I've had in awhile...

Great suggestions and I love what you and Bob have done so far!

It's been tough for me to get on the band wagon and organize something for his 50th. I'm in the middle of a 3 week intense radiation.... and will be doing my last week of radiation during his 50th. The Power Point will take up a ton of my time - but I know he'll treasure it.

Thanks all for the suggestions and help.

Me again, Having already posted the above message and pic, I began to wonder if I should have gotten permissing of the owner of the pic to use it. I'm sure it hads been discussed before here, but I have not been in the habit of 'publishing' any of my work outside my immediate family, so such things are new to me. Anyone? Bob

Not as apparent in this grayscale version, but when I saw the image of Basil's that Lisa uploaded I immediate thought of David Caruso, who's career appears to have been rescued by the new "CSI-Miami" series. It's the red hair.

Anyway, here's Basil with his old sidekick Andy Sipowitz (Dennis Franz) hanging out at the station house.

CJ Swartz
10-09-2002, 06:14 PM
Danny -- you're right!! He makes a great David Caruso.

Bob -- you bring up an excellent point. I worried a bit about that after I uploaded mine, and I've changed it enough so it's not so "obvious" -- but that doesn't answer the question.

Your image is not recognizable, in my opinion, and shouldn't be a problem. We do have to ensure that we don't violate anyone's copyright, even when we're "doing it all in fun".:)

Lisa,
So sorry that you're having to go through more treatments, and more sorry that the timing is so bad. Hopefully, working on this special treasure will help somewhat to get you through another hard time. He will treasure it, you're so right!

Thanks CJ... I think the worst part is over with. Now I'm focusing on getting better :)

Basil really like that show too! LOL. His head suits that picture to a T. Too funny Danny.

Here's one I tried. It's pretty funny!

Lisa,
I haven't seen this thread in a couple of days. Sorry to hear you've been having a bad time. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Danny,
Like you, when I first saw the photo, I thought he looked like David Caruso. I couldn't think of his name to save my life, so I didn't post.

Hey, Lisa -- have you come up with any more Birthday creations for Basil, or do you have enough transpositions for your powerpoint program?

I just finished a slideshow using Pictures to EXE ($24) which worked quite well with transitions, comments on the screen, and adding music and sound clips. It was for someone that I don't know well, and I had a lot of fun doing it -- but I was thinking that it would be even MORE fun to do for someone I loved! Hope you're having enough time to have the fun of putting it together.

Hi lisa,
I think its a great idea for a birthday treat, its something different.
My sister seems to think i'm a bit of a ladies man so for my birthday she decided to make a poster of me to get me back, i'll post it here to hopefully give you some idea's.

Whats the Powerpoint show that you mentioned?, is there a link to it?

Sorry, Bandit -- Powerpoint is a Microsoft presentation software program, and must be purchased. I mentioned it because the lady who started this thread, Lisa, was collecting ideas for the Powerpoint show to surprise her husband on his birthday.

There is a free viewer for Powerpoint presentations that have been placed on a website or sent via email -- here's a link to a site that offers the download.

Greetings all... I'm so sorry I've missed the last few posts. Thanks for the neat ideas. I like the Titanic Ron. Nice to see you posting again! Thank you for asking CJ. I'm almost finished radiation. One more week - Yippeee. As far as Powerpoint and the pictures I've worked on... I think my husband would kill me if I attached them - but I have a few that will if any - make you laugh. His 50th was last weekend and the Powerpoint was the hit of the party. I used the song "I'm Too Sexy For My Shirt" and people were laughing hard enough - I saw tears. Incidentally - I wanted to make CD for my husbands family to play on their machines - so I used Easy CD Creator PhotoRelay program. I'm actually quite happy with the program and it does a great job of creating an autorun CD.

So without any further adeau....
