I know I'm posting on the Salon, but Chris is looking for it here. Here's the deal. If you think your computer might be infected, you can go here (http://security.symantec.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=LWXXMQCKMRKRFPECDME) for a virus check from Symantec. You will have a 1.5 MB download, and your system will be scanned for infected files. It will not check compressed files though. After a thorough scan with AVG and Symantec, no infected files were found be either. My son-in-law suggested that since AVG certifies outgoing mail, it might show up as an attachment. So I disabled that function, and sent myself another e-mail. This one did not show up as having an attachment. Thank God! My nerves can't take much more of this!! :)

Glad to hear it Ed. That symantec site is a good one. I used it when I couldn't access my Norton.

Glad your sorted Ed, I thought there might be some new virus around as a few days ago Norton downloaded a huge chunk of new updates to my machine.

I've had a virus on my computer as well but I think mine came from a music file my son downloaded. Luckily it didn't get far and has been deleted by my anti virus program.
