CJ Swartz 05-01-2003, 02:26 PM e.b. -- that's not a "so-so" shot! It already has rich color, clarity, nice composition... This should be fun for some of us. I'll check back later after I've had time to rev up PShop and work with it a bit. :) CJ Swartz 05-01-2003, 02:36 PM Illustration--- BillC 05-01-2003, 03:49 PM e.b. - nice pic - thanks for sharing. CJ - I like the bright color 'illustration' .... your bright colors inspired my bright color version (warning ... put on sunglasses for viewing) Bill C CJ Swartz 05-01-2003, 04:17 PM (warning ... put on sunglasses for viewing) -- Bill C Wowzer! I thought you were KIDDING... but you weren't!! ... I gotta go find my sunglasses! ;) CJ Swartz 05-01-2003, 04:37 PM In the evening... retpmikl 05-01-2003, 07:09 PM Just spent an hour or so having fun with that pic. Thanks e.b. CJ Swartz 05-01-2003, 07:17 PM Miki -- clever! ...and a bit eerie... ;) Blacknight 05-01-2003, 07:55 PM As soon as I saw this one I thought anisotropic diffuse! Darkened with the sketchy action as a multiply layer, flattened and ran the anisotropic. Adjusted with curves. With some images, this effect is just fantastic. I really like what it did with the lines on this one. BillC 05-01-2003, 08:25 PM CJ - I really like the 'night version' - nice work! Mikl - creative ... and yes, a bit eerie! BK - I agree - the effect is fantastic on this pic - good job Bill C pstewart 05-02-2003, 01:17 AM EB, this is a wonderful photo! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. CJ, both versions are great, but the night view is awesome! Went straight into my “keeper” file of retouchpro favorites. Bill, that’s a really creative, bold look...like a sixties painting (which I am old enough to remember). :) Mikl, now THAT’s imaginative! Great job! BK, wonderful use of color and texture! It’s late and time for bed, so I’ll just fall back my usual “abstract” style. Phyllis LactoBeeZor 05-02-2003, 05:36 AM Great Job everyone. Loved the painting with light, CJ and as always BK's work, along with all the others. I had no idea what to do so I kinda went with a Twilight Zone type of thought. e.b.west 05-02-2003, 05:52 AM Amazing stuff. After seeing all that can be done with this, it becomes even more so-so. I have a couple more door and window shots (I'm a little weird that way). If I can find them I'll post them to see what you wizards can do. Once again, wild stuff. Thanks, I'm learning from it. E.B. Bill M 05-02-2003, 10:15 AM BillC- Not sure why, but I REALLY like that. Thanks. Bill M Trimoon 05-02-2003, 01:20 PM This is a link to a larger image Door (http://www.trimoon.com/door_art_L.jpg) Bill M 05-02-2003, 02:51 PM Wow, Steve, gorgeous! e.b.west 05-02-2003, 02:54 PM Trimoon, Did you do that with your flower painting steps? e.b.west 05-02-2003, 04:20 PM I started with Dave's no name action and added some angled strokes. Also adjusted Hue/Saturation a little. Once again, thanks for you efforts. E.B. retpmikl 05-02-2003, 04:46 PM Thank you for the picture to start. It was a realy good starter and I think I'm not finished yet with it. An other nice rendition from you. Good work. Trimoon 05-02-2003, 05:05 PM e.b.west I did use some of the flower painting and the sketch technique. Steve e.b.west 05-02-2003, 05:36 PM OK, thanks. I'm still trying to get a handle on that using Elements. jerry 05-02-2003, 05:51 PM E.B... Interesting shot of a colonial door..The versions so far are all so good.. Here's my attempt, some watercolor, dry brush, and lots 'o layers that got outta hand :) Pam Jeanmilden1 05-03-2003, 06:22 PM This image was fun to work with, ---It takes me so long I'm always last. As always, everybody's work was great.:) TwinbNJ 05-03-2003, 06:47 PM WOW --- Great image to play with! I have to say all the versions are just great! Amazing what you can do with a door --- LOL Here is mine..... tyeise 05-03-2003, 07:29 PM Jean, I love your image. I knew it needed something - those flowers set it off just perfect! Jerry - your colonial door was a super idea! CJ - your door at night is really nifty! I hope to do something a little different with a night version. - gotta find a bit of time to play first. :) Mikl - your door belongs in Alice in Wonderland! Phyllis - I hadn't even noticed the numbers on the door until I saw yours. Steve - I really like what you did to yours, and I'm glad you also posted a larger view. You reallly can't get the whole effect on the small one. I think you've all done just great! Tyeise GOLDCOIN 05-03-2003, 08:15 PM What fun.... Great pix to play with, Thanks. Here is what happened in Composer..... tyeise 05-07-2003, 04:51 PM My apologies to CJ - for taking the idea of this door at night. It took a while to get the effect I was after. Had to first erase all the shadows of the daylight. I figured at night, the house would be lite up. I started working on this, figuring the light would shine out the windows. But driving home after dark last night, I realized that normally windows were only bright themselves, and didn't shine any brightness around them. You only saw light on the surrounding area if the light fixture was outside. I did check this on both of my computers/monitors, as I wanted it to look good on both dark and light monitors. Tyeise Jeanmilden1 05-07-2003, 07:09 PM Tyeise, I like that a lot - you did a great job. Jean Bill M 05-07-2003, 07:12 PM Beautiful work. Very realistic. Trimoon 05-14-2003, 12:08 PM A Door (http://www.trimoon.com/A_Door.jpg) CJ Swartz 05-14-2003, 01:05 PM tyeise -- no apologies necessary -- you did a fine job on yours, and you even did some homework to make sure it was correct. I didn't do that. :) tyeise 05-14-2003, 07:11 PM Thanks CJ. :) Tyeise alex 05-23-2003, 12:42 PM I did a BW sketch Jade 05-24-2003, 05:26 PM Thank you for a great image to have fun with and thank you for such great contributions - you are an inspiration. I settled for putting a reflection in the windows - a beautiful pic of North American fall trees - colours are always stupendous aren't they? Then used the Virtual Painter Filter - Collage. Have a good day. Jade bubba 05-30-2003, 07:49 PM Great picture! Trimoon - great (your brick mason can do my house any time!)!!! CJ and Tyeise - your nighttime doors inspired me. To Tyeise I apologize for stealing your door and changing it. I had been reading something that mentioned a red light district - sooo Stolen door from tyeise and quick light change in Paint Shop Pro. bubba CJ Swartz 05-30-2003, 08:04 PM Bubba -- THAT door is ready for Friday nite! ;) Jade 05-31-2003, 02:17 AM :) Bubba - great job! pstewart 05-31-2003, 02:46 AM Wow, there have been a lot of new pics posted here since I last checked the thread, so I want to take time to offer feedback to those who have been so busy making art! Lacto, the swirly door version is a great idea, with nice lines and composition. I think I’d like it even better with sharpening of the swirly doors. Steve, your door painting is excellent... as usual. :) And your second one has a pleasant and subtle 3D quality that I like, though I usually don’t care for embossed/rendered looks. Nice work. EB, those bold lines and colors work great on this subject...nice! Pam, I especially like what your treatment did to the glass on the window. Jean, just lovely! Your added touches are wonderful! Jill, ooooh I love the cat on the stoop at night! Lovely image! Goldcoin, what a great new look! What is “Composer?” Who makes it? Tyeise, your night scene is awesome! The way the indoor lighting glows through the textured glass...wow! Alex, great b/w sketch! I’ve never seen a technique quite like that. The lines are bold but remain smooth...looks great. How did you do it? Fishboy, sometimes your lacquer pics seem “right on” and quite pleasing. This one just doesn’t work for me...too busy, too many competing textures and colors with no apparent purpose. Jade, I just love what VP collage did to this image! I have that program but forget to use it since it’s on my Mac Virtual PC Windows, and I tend to forget it’s there! Thanks for reminding me to get back to that again. Bubba...red light district? :D I love this picture, and the other door pics we’ve had. I just bought 16 rolls of film to take on my vacation next week. Hope I remember to keep an eye out for interesting doors and other architectural features...not enough of such photos around. Phyllis Jade 05-31-2003, 07:59 PM Phyllis - thank you but I forget it's there too! Have a wonderful holiday and we'll all look forward...I am sure....to some rare photos when you get home again! I have a friend who just left for Scotland/Europe 2 days ago who promised me some photos for my website.....YIPEE. Perhaps with her permission, she'll allow me to post a few "architecturals" here too. I lived just around the corner from Edinburgh Castle until my mid-20's - an area steeped in history! She hails from Edinburgh too so I expect some great photos. She wont be back until August. Cheers Blues_X 05-31-2003, 10:14 PM Here's my late night addition. {yawn} tyeise 06-01-2003, 07:20 AM bubba - no appologies necessary. I take it as a compliment that someone wanted to use my image. <g> Sorry to take so long to respond. I am currently in NC at my Mom's while dad is out of town and she is recouperating from surgery. I hope to be able to pop in and out this week, but my time will probably be limited. Phyllis - thanks for your comments. In order to get the light to show right, I did a negative of the glass, so the light would show thru the right areas, then did more work around it. :-) Everyone has been doing such wonderful stuff! I wish I had the time to comment on all of it. Just know that I love what all you are doing. Tyeise Jade 06-01-2003, 06:19 PM I like your submission Blues X - especially the colour change to the doors. Tyeise - I hope your mum gets well real soon. Regards Jade bubba 06-01-2003, 06:56 PM Blues-x - nice rendition - when I was in school there was a song "Green Door" and the jist of it was wanting to know "What was behind the Green Door?". Over 40 years later and I still don't know! bubba Jade 06-01-2003, 11:30 PM Bubba - now I can own up too to remembering that song as well..! :D :D Blues_X 06-02-2003, 10:14 AM ha... I did a Google search for "behind green door". I found reference to a song called "Green Door". But I also found that there was an early '70's porn movie with that title. Hopefully, that's not what is going on behind this particular green door ;) fyi, the lyrics to the song are here: http://lyricsplayground.com/alpha/songs/g/greendoor.html CJ Swartz 06-02-2003, 11:02 AM "Green Door" has always been one of my favorites -- I liked the music, and the mystery of "what's behind it?". :) Blues_X -- thanks for the link to the lyrics. "Saw an eyeball peepin' through a smoky cloud Behind the green door When I said 'Joe sent me' someone laughed out loud Behind the green door All I want to do is join the happy crowd Behind the green door!" Bubba -- I just figured out what is behind the Green Door -- nowadays, anyway -- it's RetouchPRO! ;) It's a happy crowd, and I'm finally getting in BEHIND the green door! :D bubba 06-02-2003, 11:37 AM Blues_X - just the music (thanks for the link) CJ - your are right - RetouchPro people must be what is behind todays' Green Door! Memories are cheap and worth every penny of the price! bubba |
