I just made mention of Dogwaffle in a reply on the NaturePainter thread (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5962), and then realized that maybe some people are not familiar with this program. Sooooo...
Dogwaffle is a low-cost natural media program, that also has a free version. Here is its page: (http://www.squirreldome.com/cyberop.htm)
A review with screenshots can be found here: (http://www.critical-depth.net/modules.php?name=Reviews2&rop=showcontent2&id=123)
A Dogwaffle starting place (http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/) that leads to tutorials, gallaries, etc.
And then there is always good ol' Google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&q=dogwaffle&btnG=Google+Search)
