Cheryl H 06-28-2003, 03:22 PM PM--I like the second version of your red-winged-fibber better. 1. Made a duplicate of the background and ran Buzz simplifier at around 90. 2. Duplicated this layer and ran cutout. I set the blending mode on this layer to soft light and then merged the layer down into the buzz layer. 3. On the merged layer, I ran Texture--Grain--Speckle option. And set the opacity to around 75% to let a little of the original come through. 4. Added a pattern fill layer with a blending mode of soft light to give it texture T Paul 06-28-2003, 10:45 PM Cheryl, Nicely done! I really like the new texture in the background. I don't have Buzz, but the combination of the simplifier and cutout filters really did a nice job turning the image into photoart. ~T Mig 06-29-2003, 01:01 AM If birds could talk. Maybe, I don't know. Mig DannyRaphael 07-01-2003, 03:37 PM Based on the method/Photoshop action described HERE (http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=55910#post55910). Peter S 02-18-2007, 02:38 PM The trouble with Blackbirds is that they are black. Getting the details out aint easy. Done using Art history with added texture. Thanks T for posting this, I think it should have gotten a bigger response. Peter CJ Swartz 02-18-2007, 03:18 PM Well, Peter -- your rendition should get the interest sparked in this thread again! :) Sweetlight 02-18-2007, 03:32 PM I use mac and pc but on pc I just right click and save but for those of you on PC who need a nice screen shot program there is a free one on FileHippo called MWSnap. It is excellent with lots of options. c Sweetlight 02-18-2007, 03:58 PM Just a little creative depth of field addition. I love the song these birds have. c CJ Swartz 02-18-2007, 04:34 PM Since this is the Creative Interpretations thread, I can go far afield -- I used some extrude, some Dark Strokes, some Glowing edges, some layer blends, etc. I imagine their song being turned into solid objects -- flying around about them wherever they go... Sweetlight -- I love their songs too -- I miss hearing them as they have moved due to the farmland being developed into housing, but there are some sanctuaries where they still visit. Swampy 02-19-2007, 08:45 AM Blackbirds are cool. I've got a couple grackels in my back yard that will eat out of my hand. They can be quite pushy though. I selected various areas of color and "painted" with textures using the Texturizer. Peter S 02-19-2007, 11:59 AM Nice one Swamp Lady, you've made it look like one of those coffee table books every one likes, or maybe an Ad for a Bird world place. Peter Swampy 02-19-2007, 12:36 PM Thanks, Peter. For some reason, I found this photo difficult to "do" something with. I thouhgt trying some painting with texture might be fun because of the corn and beans (or whatever that is on the right of the feeder). I never could really visualize where I wanted to go with it. palms1 02-19-2007, 01:44 PM Wish i could get as good a shot of the birds in my garden ! ! they always fly away as soon as they see the camera ! ! ! ! !
