As always, feel free to add anything else you feel might be of help to someone learning to airbrush an image. DJ Dubovsky 08-02-2002, 06:06 PM Excellent tutorial Jak. Alot of people can get great benefits from learning to master the airbrush tool in restoration work. Very nicely presented and easy to understand and follow. You're getting to be quite the pro at these tuts. :) All the better for us.
DJ winwintoo 08-02-2002, 07:12 PM Very good tutorial Jak. I've been practicing with the airbrush lately and it's become my favorite tool to use. I find I have more control than with the clone tool (although there are times when only the clone tool will do)
Keep up the good work,
Margaret Another very good tutorial Jak. You should slow down. The rest of us might be catching up with you at this rate! :D Thank you.
Ed Don Majoros 08-03-2002, 01:06 PM Thanks Jak. I's one of the areas I need tutoring in and I do appriciate it.I promise I'll practice, practice and practice some more. Sharon 08-03-2002, 07:01 PM Thanks Jak,
I am going to give this a try today.
Sharon gland 08-07-2002, 06:56 AM Great tutorial Jak. :) The texture in Benny's suit is excellent. I'm sure you used a special brush for this but I haven't been able to duplicate it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gary Jakaleena 08-07-2002, 07:00 AM Nope - no special brushes. The only brushes I used were the regular ones shown on the palette in the tutorial. I varied the size of the brushes depending on the space I was working on, but really it was just mostly a soft round regular brush... gland 08-07-2002, 07:18 AM Thats amazing. :) Looks like I need lots of practice.
Thanks.
Gary Jakaleena 08-07-2002, 07:27 AM I was just looking at the tut again to see what you were seeing.
I think what you might be noticing is the texture that was there in the first place. Because I used my brush at a very low opacity, the original texture is there and showing through, but has just been softened by the painting I did on top of it. gland 08-09-2002, 07:47 PM I think you're right Jak.
I've tried your technique on Benny and although I can make him look quite a bit better, I've got a log way to go.
More practice I guess. :) Phillip Whitt 02-13-2003, 08:58 AM An excellent tutorial on airbrushing. I've had to resort to digital airbrushing many, many, times, and I could still use more practice.
one thing I'd like to mention that has helped me out when airbrushing (on a separate layer, of course) is to add a small amount of monochrome noise, and to blur it slightly.
This tutorial has made me resolve to set aside time to practice, because it is important to know how to do well. Jak
Airbrushing and me are like oil and water! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial. heathrowe 02-25-2003, 05:39 PM tnx Jakaleena for the great tut
heathrowe Doug Nelson 07-24-2003, 04:10 AM Sometimes, when retouching an image, no matter what you try there is no fix that seems to work well - or at all. It's frustrating. At that point, I usually resort to an old standard: Airbrushing. [details (http://www.retouchpro.com/tutorials/index.php/?m=show&id=33)] |
